Can fuel pump cause high idle?
My e90 330i has high idle almost all the time. Steady tho.
It started more than a year ago but only sometimes, but now after warm up idle behaves ok just for a while, but then it goes up around 8500 rpm. I've done a smoke test to check for air leaks inside the intake but found nothing. Today I conected it to INPA and found this error code: CEC7 Electronic Fuel Pump Control Module. I did a quick search and seems to be de cause of the high idle. Does it make any sense? Is it the fuel pump or something electronically related? Any opinion is appreciated. |

Yeah, that CEC7 code pointing to your Fuel Pump Control Module is likely messing with your idle speed. It's not so much the pump itself but the gadget that tells it what to do. Fixing or swapping out that module should help smooth things out.

I will see if it can be cleaned with contact or MAF cleaner to see if it makes a difference. I saw that its located behind the right rear backrest. |
