I think there's enough pics to have a calendar for Towed Away Bimmers of 2015.

question to all lowered car being towed, how were you able to get the car on the flatbed without ripping your bumper/lip off?

There's a couple tips already mentioned. Tell the tow truck company ahead of time to send a flatbed and 2x4s.

Yup. We had signed docs already, so he was kinda stuck with it. He wasn't too upset.

bimmette you started this thread to scare off the potential future e90 owners?? lol
in all seriousness this is a great thread...for those that have to get your car towed due to having a flat....you need to invest in a slime flat repair kit! |

Blown motor on my 1st Track Day
Piston #6 let loose and put a hole through the block...
... that was not a fun day , but the car's been great since then. Ask me why I don't use methanol anymore. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=807540

Actually, I just think it's funny that we all keep these pics. And we can all sit back and laugh now, but at the time? Grrrrrrrr

Water pump... I was on my way to a date with a really cute girl, but everything decided to work against me: It was 104°F, everything was already hitting the fan since I started the day being woken up at 5AM on a Saturday for something trivial at work that I can discuss on Monday and unable to go back to sleep, so I was assed out (but I've enabled DND on my phone since then)... Then a paid parking lot ripped me off and I even had to go back and head to an ATM (I pulled in at the normal rate but then they had an event down the street and decided to charge double), the dry cleaner misplaced and almost lost my clothes, and the car wash took forever so I had to haul ass AND I was in a bad mood.
So then 5 minutes after I spent what felt like half an hour in Downtown LA street traffic, WOT onto the freeway, *BLUNNGGGG*... If you look closely, you can even see the water runoff from desperately trying to pour distilled water in it to hope it was just because of the WOT. For me, it's because it happened 3 weeks ago and I actually posted it on FB so it was right there. I just haven't lowered it yet (but I plan to), but with an xi it has to be on a flatbed regardless so I kinda had no choice... But either way I do see why I should just leave it as-is. Not as bad as my Toyota Solara though; that thing was a tractor before lowering it!

Yeah I don't know about the whole lowered thing- even with 2 x 4's the front end of my m-sport clacked mildly across the aluminum flatbed for the first 3 feet or so- it was quite terrifying.
I mean, if I didn't have so many scrapes underneath my bumper I would've actually cared LOL |

I managed to avoid the photos...but not the tow. Woke up to an empty parking spot this morning. Glad to see there's so many people here to 'inform' new owners of what to expect to go out first.

Hmm that reminds me. Once when my car was towed away to a lot, it was given back with the hood roundel pried off! Grrr.
