Minor Scratches.. any fix?

So when I picked up the car a couple weeks ago, the dealership detailed it and it looked pretty good. There were a few scratches I pointed out to them prior to that and they touched it up.

Fast forward to now, about 3 weeks later, and they are as visible as ever. There is one weird swirly one on the drivers door, and one on the roof. Any suggestions on how to reduce/get rid of these?

I attached some pics. Thanks!

Greetings,

Griot's Garage - they have polishes, waxes, sealants, buffers, how-to videos, etc. You could probably buff it out yourself.

Good luck,

2k paper, than 3k paper, than a med. compound or swirl remover.

Wolfgang total swirl remover 2.0 would be perfect.

the dealer put 1 or 2 coats of wax on your car. It did a pretty good job hiding the scratches on your car.

now 3wks later, and it has somewhat weathered away you see the stuff. very very few dealers have a "real" detailer there.

find a respectable body shop and they should be able to take care of everything.

Thanks guys. Will look into doing it myself but I am afraid of sanding it. I might get my roof wrapped to cover it up... thoughts?

Do I need to apply a clear coat or something over the paint after?

I would get bmws paint in an aerosol version, clear coat in an aerosol version. Wet sand the scratch with all three papers until it is as smooth as a baby's butt. Then apply two coats, at least, to the area in question. You should not really need more then two. Make sure your room or garage is a room temp (72 degrees). Wait the appropriate amount of time in between coats. Apply two coats of clear coat. If you get an orange peel effect, which you probably will, then you will need to apply 1500 and 2000 grit sand paper to it and then buff it out. Once you buff it with a porter and cable buffer and some 3m perfect it paste series, after wet sanding it, you will have a the perfect paint job in that area. I use the chemical guys pads. You'll need an orange, white and green one for the three paste's 3m has. You can get all the items above from Amazon. You will need the pad adapter the chemical guys have for the porter and cable, but its only like $15.00. Probably out the door for the buffer, pastes, pads and adapter you looking at $200.00. Sandpaper can be bought at your local auto zone.

You should watch a lot of DIY videos on how to wet sand and buff before you attempt to do this. I am not a mechanic by any means, but I will do my research and the above has worked out quite well for me.
