Computer for servicing

I had an oil change at 20000km when I purchased the 320I from a Porsche dealer. They reset the computer when the car was serviced. Since then the readout tells me that in 14000 km I have to do "something" I have done 3000 km since then and the readout is still on 1400km. Shouldnt this count backwards as kms are travelled until the kms have been reached for the particular action required. The next oil service shows 38000km. This must mean do it at 38000kms contrary to the book which says this readout is how many kms till the next service and counting down as we go. ???? Confused....anyone shed some light on this please.

Take it to the dealer. your computer is reading incorrectly. for an oil change, when reset, your computer should read about 24000km, or 15000 miles.

as for the one that says 14000km, do you know how to access the "service info" on your instrument cluster? if you do, tell me what the symbol looks like that goes along with this reading.

also... I have an idea.... I'm a BMW tech. if you give me the last 7 digits of your vin number, I may be able to access service information about your vehicle, and tell you almost exactly what's going on.

Service indication

I have taken it to the dealer....I was told that the 38000km indication was a blow out because i drive to sedately. They told me that it would count down or adjust itself as i drive.
I have done 3000km an i'm still waiting
The 14000 Km shows that i have to check the front brakes then, or when i'm told as this counts down...in 3000km it hasnt counted down but i was told by the dealer that this is because there isn't enough brake wear yet.
I should mention that i bought the car from a porsche dealer second hand at 19000km They did the oil service and reset the car computer. Could they have used the wrong resetting device and caused this problem. I told the genuine BMW dealer about this and they have spoken to the Porsche dealer and said that it was all Ok??
Any advice ar info wouldbe helpful.

There is no reset "device" for the e90. it's a procedure, and I didn't notice at first that you bought it from a Porshce dealer. Please take it to a BMW dealer immediately! thanks
