Life is tough.

I just broke up with my girl after more than 3 years of relationship. We were living together for those years. We were practically living together as husband and wife instead of being legally married. Badly heartbroken after all the time of being together and sacrifice I had for her. I just got let reality take its path.

The fuked up thing is I just started school this semester and broke up at the same time. Its tough to focus in school now with all the shit to deal with.

I just feel like to share it with everyone and hope to understand from other people experience.

i went through the same thing. I was with this girl for 4 years and one day she just had a change of heart. sucks ass totally BUT i been dating my current girl for the past 2 years now and she's awesome. none of the flaws that my ex had. trust me my friend there is hope!!! keep your head up foo!! you'll go through the denial phase, then the anger phase, the lonely phase, and then the funnest part back on the hunt phase

finish school, keep focused, make tons of money, find a hot chick to floss in that m3 and trust me.. your ex will be eating her heart out... mine did heeh...

been there done that bought the frigin tshirt... it sucks, i know.

all you can do is let it be for a month or two. you don't say reasons you broke up, but sounds like she dumped you. if that's the case, well, it's just not meant to be. She might change her mind of course, but you'd have to from now on look at what you did wrong yourself if anything, and if something was - change it. also try to focus on other things and put energy not into crying but into school, sport, work, friends, etc. Anything that keeps you occupied. Cut her out of your contacts, msn, facebook lists, etc. better not to see who she is friends with, when she gets online, etc, etc, etc. Out of sight, out of mind.

also, remember YOU have a choice! you can feel like shit, or you can feel proud and confident and move on. I went through this in February. Its taken me few months more to get over it, but we work together and sit next to each other so you can imagine this was tough as nails for me. Now we are even friends, but obviously things won't ever be the same. She left me btw because I was too selfish at the time, didn't pay attention to her and she cheated in the end. I can blame her, but i kknow i was reason for problems as well. Accepting this for me helped to just move on. we were together for couple of yers, lived together, had xmas with families, etc, the whole deal. So it was very tough. But it helped too - i am now much more fit thanks to all the free time i had and dedicated it to work out and sports, so im twice the man i was a year ago, much more confident and with better view on life. two sides to every coin. learn from breakups, not sulk.

I have dated since of course and that also helped. If you are good with women, just date few girls for fun (but let them know you are not serious, dont lead them on) - unless you get lucky and meet someon really cool next day... life works in crazy ways man. Keep your chin up, time heals everything, this is the truth.

PS. don't do anything stupid like get drunk and drive your M3!!!!!!!

Having been through all sorts of tough times, financially, women, friends on and on I can say this as fact. It sounds corny but it always ends up OK with time. I broke up with the girl I thought I was going to marry right in the middle of my senior year at college. 6 years together. Bad news for my grades. I let it consume me all day everyday for WAY too long. In the end I found out she was secretly seeing some guy..."just as friends". Pshhhh.

Get out and do things in your spare time. Get with your good friends. Don't sit around waiting for the phone to ring. And DON'T call her. Hang in there!

mah man.... i feel your pain brotha. I'm going through this same ish right now. Been broken up for two months now and there is still a lot of SHIT i'm dealing with from the relationship. We both went through the crying and denial... Went through hating eachother.... I wondered what more there could be? Well, she contacts me still to talk a bunch of shit about how she is over the relationship and how she wants her lingerie back blah blah blah. She's a personal trainer at 24 hour and she went and cancelled my membership yesterday just to fuck with me and get under my skin.... Seems like women will go to drastic measures to kick you in the balls, especially when they are feeling that you are getting over it.

I dunno bro there comes a point where no matter how much you love someone you can't take the bullshit anymore. And all that heartache you feel ends up numb which is good because you know you're healing.

I liquored up for a month... Took a couple trips to Vegas.... lol... Just spend time with friends and family. I know its hard to focus right now but like others said... Time heals all. And make sure you guys dont contact eachother.. it just prolongs the healing process. I know relationships are an addiction.. you just gotta work on yourself right now and get that swagger back :P

Good luck man. Stay up.

We've all been there and done that - some of us in longer ones and some of us in shorter ones. But at the end, it seems to hurt just as much no matter the length of time. Best advice is to stay strong and dont dwell about it, look at it as a positive thing. Think about what you learned from this relationship, you probably learned who you are and what you need from a girl/relationship.

In the end, thats what its all about...a learning experience to better yourself for the next one or possibly the final one!

cheer up

Sorry to hear that.
Just hang in there. Try not to talk to her too much and tell to your self that it is history. Move on and spend time with your friends and family.
I know 3 yrs is a long time but look at the positive way it is better it happened now. Just imagine had it happened in 5 yrs from now or after you got married.
Hang in there. Every thing happens for a reason.

They love that shit. They are evil at times...when they see you happy.

Two can play that game. Maybe you could run into her somewhere...with a hot chick hanging on your arm. Drives them BATTY!

Man I understand you.
I got dumped from "the one" after going out for 2 years and I really was in low point in my life for more than a year after. I couldn't literally do anything, I had been drinking in my room for first 3 weeks but eventually got over her after about two years.
But guess what. She came back 3 years later. Now we are engaged and getting ready to be married. We appriciate each other more than ever and more than anything.
If you think shes the one and if she is, she will come back if you do the right things.
If shes not, you will meet a better one. Don't be too sad. You got your M3.

Yeah. don't do that. You wouldn't want her to do that to you ON PUPORSE would you? Unless you got thick skin, dont do anything silly. Best you can do is to wish her a happy life, say that if it makes her happy to be away from you, then by all means that's fine by you. You will be screaming inside but say this and act cool and happy. don't be mean to her. Be friendly when have to but dont initiate ANY contact for a while. Two things will happen: she'll want you back or at least will appreciate you more then you were together as confident, strong and independent MAN, not a nancy boy. Don't play this jealosy games, leave this to soap operas and high school kids. Be a man.
