Hmm, they actually really do. I really hadn't noticed that before, but you're right. Hopefully the Vette is better built, the Supra was one of the worst built Toyotas I've come across.

Thanks red bread,
I keep telling him it's that long sweeping line going from one side to the other enclosing everything the driver uses while in the car. Yeah, I've never had a supra or a vette, however my buddy had a c6 zo6 and it was an insane rocket but the quality was terrible. It rattled even on the smoothest of roads...but god was it quick!

Everyone gets what you're getting at. Leaf springs are less advanced, coils have adjustability, blah, blah, blah. There's no point to increase the cost of the car by fitting coilover suspension when a)the car does just fine without it and b)most of these will be midlife crisis mobiles and the owners will never look behind their wheels so will never adjust anything

If it ain't broke, don't fix it

The few MKIV Supras I've been in had decent interiors, especially for a 90's car. Still miles ahead of the C5 without a doubt. The build quality seemed fine to me, especially in the engine bay once the JZ motors took over for the 7Ms once the MKIV came out.

Will everyone please look into the type of leaf spring the Corvette uses?

My dad has an FD RX7 and we both looked at the MkIV Supra. I just recall the t-tops rattling on new cars, the glove box felt like it was made out of balsa wood and latched with a rotten rubber band and the door panels were one piece of Tupperware. It may have been better than the C5, but the C5 was sort of the low point for the Corvette until the 405hp Z06 arrived.

The stock Z51 wheels will be forged.

Heavier, more expensive and no dish. Not really a fan of HRE's, but they sure think they're special.

It has no dish because that's the style of wheel they chose. HRE offers multipiece wheels with deep lips and if these wheels had lower offsets they'd be concave:

And you do you know exactly how much the OEM wheels weigh? Because the model shown in a 19x10 only weighs 21lbs. And if you think a wheel is inferior because it's more expensive then I'm finished here.

Did I use that logic? HRE has made huge improvements the last three or four years from being comically heavy to actually being raced and truly track worthy, I applaud them for that. I generally prefer one piece, forged wheels over three piece wheels with cast barrels. I know HRE has recently started offering fully forged wheels too, but pricing is not in line with my value expectations for what they offer, if you have looser standards, cool.

Well I can see you guys aren't Corvette fans. Here's what they were inspired by.

See wraparound console, placement of shifter, vents, cupholders, etc.

The C5 interior was inspired by the design of the C2. They'll throw retro stuff in the interior design but never exterior, for the most part.

Hardly. The intro of the C5 was considered a high point from the '90 ZR-1. All-new much, much, much better and stiffer chassis, all new engine architecture(first car with the LSx), all new interior/exterior design, etc, etc. Some of its features and developments are still in the C7.

Rotor size will not affect the performance. If fact, the chief engineer has stated that the new C7 will out brake the Z06 and ZR1.
