Can we bring this thread back?

Watching garage squad today they were working on a 1989 Chevy Camaro. The ultimate douche mobile! Every wanna be guido in New Jersey had one and they thought they were the shit. Any Camaro from 1982-2002 was a pos! So fvcken ugly and slow.

Really unpopular opinion (flame suit on), but I don't care for Porsche 911s. Don't care how good they may be to drive, aside from the GT3 I'll never click with them. With my money, I'd rather buy almost any other sports car at or below the same price.

Here's the issue, at the basic level (Carrera) anything else with similar power in a 2+2 config weighs a solid 500 pounds more, solid, sometimes near 1,000 pounds.

A buddy of mine pulled up in my driveway in 1998 in a brand new Camaro SS. It was dark green with a black interior and a five speed. It was fast for the day but quality wise was definitely civil war era GM. I still remember he paid $31,000 for it which would be like $60k in todays money. Could not believe he spent that much money on a Camaro.

And respectfully, I couldn't care less I'd rather get a Lotus if weight is my primary concern. There's always a more interesting car I can find that I'd rather buy.

911s just don't click with me, and probably never will. And I'm quite okay with that.

I hate pickup truck drivers, not the vehicles. When you see an a-hole zigzagging, cutting people off, tailgating ... 90% it is a pickup. Also had to drive a rental Versa for a few days... what a piece of garbage.

And this

In my area, 90% of time it is a Tesla driver.

I'll throw in a Miata. Appreciate the handling and it does look good but it just needs more power, it is also SUPER tight inside.

Not an enthusiast car, but certainly loved by the general public, any and all Subaru's. I just do not like the brand what so ever. Never owned one and I'm honestly not sure what brewed my dislike for them so strong compared to other brands, but I do not understand why they are so successful and loved. Mazda deserves the love and success they have.

As with many mid engine Ferraris, the GTS is not that great, but the GTB is superb, one of my all time favorites. The weird V8 ones are even better.

In high school my friend's IROC-Z in was the escape vehicle from suburbia to the big city... will always have a soft spot them!

BTW, here's my theory: Everyone that once had a Prius a decade ago has moved up to Tesla. But they still have that slow AF hypermiling mentality. So they drive their very capable Tesla like a Prius. Holding up traffic (me), slowing down for curves, mis-timing lights and ending up having to stop, etc. FML they're awful!

And Subaru drivers aren't much better. Not the WRX flat-brim crowd, but the safety people in Outbacks and Foresters scared of the world. They let marketing tell them they need AWD in SoCal in case it rains. By definition they're going to drive like a scared grandmother.

Subaru's are mediocre vehicles that have benefitted from a cult following in the USA. They aren't terrible (the Outback is by far their best vehicle and it kind of has its own niche) but I just don't understand why Americans (by far their biggest market) love them so much as they have nothing close to best in class, their tech is always a generation behind, their engines are terrible, and they have surpassed Nissan as the CVT brand. Europeans don't like them and even in Canada where you think they would do really well, they are an also-ran brand, yet Americans just love them. It's one of those weird things in the automobile world that I have never understood.

Every Pagani Zonda ever made.

I absolutely realize that they are awesome performers, and sound fantastic, and are super rare, but the overuse of every kind of bling possible just makes me cringe. I mean, all aboard the vomit comet. If I were to win one in a lottery I'd sell it before ever taking delivery.

VW Golf R. My friend had one (I even got to drive it for a day) and I've seen a lot of people praise them online. The resale market seems to be very strong on them which means they must have a lot of demand. I think they're basic looking cars that look like a teenager should be driving. And the price on them in my opinion is ridiculous.
