I will try to help you the best I can. I am not a fan of iTunes but once you have an iPod/iPhone, its what you have to use. So first off, make sure you have all your music in a folder, ie. My Music or something like that. Open iTunes, click File --> Add Folder (ie. My Music). It should now start to sync your music into iTunes. Personally, I like to group my music or keep full albums in the their own folder, it makes it easier. If you happen to move your music folder or rename it, you will have to re-add it to iTunes because it will give you an error saying it cannot located the files, but I am sure you wont have to worry about that. As for adding media to your iPhone, I am not too sure since I dont own an iPhone. If anything, I will try to ask my friends for you or something. Hope that works, Good Luck.

Chris.

iTunes by default manages your music. It takes all of your music files and copies them into ~/My Music/iTunes/iTunes Music, so essentially you can remove your other mp3s after adding them to iTunes.

To add music to iTunes just drag the file/folder to the top level Music playlist in iTunes.

copying music FROM iPhone/iPod is not allowed by Apple, but there is a ton of apps that would to that. I am not familiar with Windows versions.
