I still don't get why there's a need for summer break in the middle of the season. Except cost saving. They should've keep the season and momentum going and finish the season earlier. Then post a mandatory factory closed for three weeks after the last race of the season.

Anyways, back in action at the best track in the world.

Not sure why the FOM site has Vettel's lap time as track record. Where was Kimi's time in 2005 was 2 seconds faster as listed on FIA site?

I would imagine that the break is for 2 reasons:
1) Automotive factories are usually closed down in August for retooling (probably not an relevant issue anymore)
2) F1 is run by Europeans and they take August off.

Maybe that's why Vettle is listed as having the fastest time as he has the fastest time in the track's current configuration??? Dunno for sure
