Very funny, but too true for many.

Just like mp3 versus high rez music files, some people prefer the smear of the mp3. Some people prefer iPhone photos to professional photography, really.

Maybe it's the extra crisp, clear air of Canada...

Wanna tell me how you managed to hold the camera still for 2 seconds without any blur?

I'm going to be doing these kinds of shots sometime - do you think your 70-200mm would be useful in rolling shots at all?

It's a rig shot.
I'd say the 70-200mm is more usefull for panning shots, too much zoom for rolling shots.

Is there a lens that you would recommend for those types of shots?

Oops, I last looked at it a few weeks ago and it was working.

You can see in this thread that he's using a wide angle; however, there's WAY more to it than the lens. The camera is mounted on a rig, in this case up on the front corner of the car. The shutter is a long exposure where car is pushed slowly during the open aperature. Finally, the rig is removed from the image with photoshop.

It was a boom suction cupped onto the car actually, so you want a wide angle so that you don't need to boom at as far out making it less steady... That was shot with a 14mm F2.8 lens actually.

70-200mm I use primarily for stills or shots panning at the race track.

For rolling car to car shots I'd recommend 24-70 with a polarizer on it, or equivalent if you are on Dx.

If you look on my flickr a couple of pages back, all of the car to car stuff was either 10.5mm or 18-70mm

Hope that helps!

And thanks for all the comments guys =)

More to come right away!

Picking up an 85mm tilt shift tomorrow!!! =P
