So I'm pretty sure I want/need to go to grad school now and see how a lot of people on this forum is around the 20-30 age mark, I guess I can ask here. So what are the major differences between undergrad and grad environment/class? I'm aware that different schools will do different things, but what are the general differences other than costs..? Enlighten me please.

MBA here. Classes in grad school were way more practical. I actually learned stuff I use at work every day. I can't say the same for undergrad.

Another thing is you will probably experience more work outside of class. In fact I would venture to say that most work is done outside of class.

So you're looking at an MBA? I have a graduate degree in another area but some of my friends are looking at MBA's and some have them. From what I understand, and I could be wrong, I'm just an ousider looking in:

make sure you go to a top 10 MBA program, otherwise its not really that useful. The friends that did go to top 10 MBA have told me that grades don't matter and they spend most of their time going to parties and networking. Like going to parties became their job and it was time consuming.

The friends that didn't go to top 10 MBA programs, said the MBA was a lot like undergrad, and they didn't really get a big boost in salary/jobs available to them.

Grad school? Start by first learning to write properly. Above is on a 3rd grade level (and that's being nice). Idiocracy here we come!

Anyway back to the subject... I'm thinking USC NYU Columbia or Boston. I just don't know what to expect. Or if I can handle it part time.

I am pretty sure you need at least 2 yrs experience to enter into any MBA program, especially to a top school. So dont expect anything.

If I am wrong please let me know so I can start applying to other MBA programs. I applied to University of Florida MBA and they told me 2 yrs experience was a requirement.

Have you looked in Santa Clara University? They have an amazing business school. Plus the school is basically a step below Ivy League. The 35k+ a year for the school is somewhat steep. But, as I say "there is no price for education."
Future ASU student myself! Very excited for an amazing experience at college.

GPA has nothing to do with being illiterate. First thing all should know about colleges and universities is they are in business to make money, first and foremost, which means your dollars are more important to them than whether you actually benefited from their teachings. Of course you won't find anything about "making money" in their mission statements. And FWIW, I have a MBA and my GPA was 4.0. Seriously, you need to remedial English, and that's not a slam, that's advice to help you. If you can't communicate on an educated adult level, you have no place in the world of business. You'll just continue to embarrass yourself further. Think about it.

balls what I'm really confused. All I was required to take for my major was three classes of English. If you have a problem with it then blame the school or department not me because I passed all of them with flying colors. Plus I'm proud to have this level of English abilty since its not even my first language. You can judge people by their covers, go ahead, but for your sake let's just assume I HAVE PERFECT ENGLISH SKILLS. We are going off topic on a simple question, shall we continue on? Plus this is the internet, why so serious?

I have heard of SCU as a business school have to look into it.

CS major here. I think our profession is a really bad example for everyone else.

A BS in CS is pretty much all you need to qualify for most jobs. Experience in the field is what matters and an MS is wasted.

I've got a few super smart friends who are going into highly-technical-yet-still-mostly-academic areas of the industry (linguistics, AI) where an extended education is worthwhile, but for the rest of us programmers experience building systems that make money is all that is important.

I have another friend who majored in History. He's a smart guy and a fantastic writer, but he has basically no choice but to finish his PHD and write a book or three. This will work well for him, but wouldn't for me.

As most others have said, depends on the career you want and the industry you are in.
