I ordered mine through this company. I am still getting it set up at this time. I have some friends that deal with this stuff on a day to day. They said it is solid stuff and will suit my needs fine.
They will be helping me set things up so I can view RT from home or on vacation to what is going on. Hope this link helps. http://www.securitycameraworld.com/S...-with-cams.asp

I had one in front of my house which I could monitor from work. I caught all sorts of things going on when I was at work from people picking the plums from my tree, to people walking around scoping out the house, sideyard, the cars (the reason I bought the camera system), and backyard.
One day I noticed someone broke into my supra, but my camera was off that day - what a coincidence. It's funny how things only happen when the camera is off. Oh, i caught a group of kids vandalizing my roommates car (neighbor's friends), dogs shitting on my lawn, everyone who has dropped by when I wasn't around, a car that ran over my neighbor's cat, the bicyclist who put a fountain drink cup top of the fence that divides my neighbor's house, and a girl who was crazy about me scoping out who's at my house... I actually live in a nice neighborhood, it's just that you don't realize what goes on around your house when you're not around. |

I'm thinking of upgrading my surveillance system (ordered by preference):
http://www.costco.com/Browse/Product...*4803*&topnav= http://www.costco.com/Browse/Product...*4803*&topnav= http://www.costco.com/Browse/Product...*4803*&topnav= I originally wanted the last one - the system with 9 cameras, but that system can only support 60fps amongst all 9 cameras which is only about 5fps with all cameras connected. Anyone have opinions of any of the surveillance system above? Gary |

I run surveillance systems at all my stores to keep an eye on employees and the store when I'm not there. I can connect remotely by typing in the IP address. I also run a VNC application so I can check the registers for any suspicious activity.
I got all my systems from Skyway Security in NY. I buy most of my cameras online- I've got some dummy cameras as well as PTZ cameras for critical areas, such as over the register. You can use the same setup for home use- I'm thinking of adding a setup for my house for extra safety. Let me know and I'll try to get some screen shots. |

BTW Radio shack has a simple setup if you don't want to go all out for about 300 bucks.
It wirless and can record only when there is motion if you turn on that function http://www.radioshack.com/search/ind...%20camera&sr=1

I know how to install cameras and stuff like that but how do I set it up so I can view the images or videos online like in real time or webcam like on a webpage or an address I type in the address bar from any comp with access to the internet?
Like a webcam page...the packet shows I'd have to purchase a web server service to do that, is there any other way of doing it without paying annually?

unless you get PTZ cameras that is monitored live by someone or enhanced software that zooms, they all suck for recongnition. with that said at home I use wilife which is networked via the electric lines and send emails on motion. at work we have a bosch system
in addition, I found a neat company we were going to use, but they werent local http://www.pro-vigil.com/ . look at their videos, the facial recognition isnt great |

I install Hikvision system for clients a lot, make sure you get a POE camera system. This is one Cat6 cable to each camera from the NVR. The Hik-Connect App is excellent. I personally have the 6mp Turret cameras at my home with an 8ch NVR/8tb hard disc

I went super simple and just did Ring cameras. They only thing I don't like about them is they're wifi based. With the generator we'll still have power, but if the cable company is down, so are the cameras.
for $99 a year you can save everything to the cloud here's a screen shot of 3 of the 6 around the house Last edited by Joe T; 11-12-2021 at 06:50 AM.. Reason: forgot picture |
