Garage List
My FIRST lap in my E90 325i was about 12-12 1/2 minutes. I could shave time off of that by driving it some more times, but that track is INSANE. That track beats you to hell. Oh, and if you combine all of the roads I have driven in the states for fun, I have dealt with most of the situations you find on the track (excluding the crazy banked turn) What makes the ring so hard is that all of those sections are strung together.

Now, once you fly out here and drive the track and do that sub 10 minute lap on your first try, then you can talk shit about it.

Ya and I wanna see vids too.

You think you can do it, and if death wasn't a possibility, or if you lack all fear whatsoever, then it is feasible, but we're only human.

Didn't Clarkson to a comparison between a GT4 Laguna Seca laptime and a RL one in an NSX?

Let's hope he was just trying to get flamed. Otherwise he is way too cocky. If not that, than real ignorant.

I believe it's challenging when the Nürburgring track is filled with other drivers driving like there's no tommorow. Sure, it's one of the greatest tracks, but there are many roads that are much more challenging to drive.

+100000000.

Either that, or you better have some serious high performance driving credentials to claim the Nurburgring is a joke and that you can do a 10 min lap in a e46. And dont give us all that "i drive around canyons/windy roads everyday". If you have ever been on a real track, you know that driving a canyon is no where close to how hard you will push your car on a real track.

Wow, after watching that video...talk about tough looking course. Imagine if there were cars on the track too?

I grew up in Canada, been driving since the day I turned 16 and yes the roads are trecherous in the winter. But by no means does that give us Canadians the right to say we would kill the Ring because of the driving conditions that we face.

Sure, you can say I don't live in mountain passes nor do I drive mountain roads daily. However, I have been a advid snowboarder since being 16 so I have made numerous trips to the mountains to ride. Not once driving the mountain passes did I think, hey wouldn't it be great to take my car to the limit on this slippery ass road. Then follow up that thought with, sh*#, I could probably destroy the ring. Driving the rings takes years of skill. Driving Canadian roads takes good winter tires.

Ok, I've driven on crazy non canyon curvy roads with lots of inclines and declines. I'm only making an assumption that I can do it in about 10 minutes or less with an E46. The Nürburgring seems to be so ordinary to me. Damn, I drive those conditions when I need to buy a gallon of milk. Honestly, the thing I'm afraid about the Nürburgring are other drivers. That's the truth.

I think this kid is a poser who claims he owns a BMW...just a geeky kid that wants to hang out with the cool kids....LOL

why would anyone come on this site and make that claim...his only intention is to stir up shit!

Ya but are you going 10/10ths? 100% Pushing it to the limit? Do you know all the turns on the Ring? Do you know how many blind corners and dips there are? You make a mistake and you're toast. Unless you know the track and your car through and through you're prob not gonna do as good as you think.

Yes, I've driven on an actual track. It's called the Mission Raceway Park. It's not as challenging as the Nürburgring for sure.

It's easy to make claims about defeating something considered great.

It's another thing to actually DO IT.
