LPG vs Meth. Which one is better?

Lots of meth talk here so let's talk LPG:

Quote:
The first thing to understand is that the LPG is used as an ancillary fuel. An additive, if you like. The original diesel fuelling system – whether that’s a mechanical distributor pump, common rail direct injection or electronic unit injection – stays completely intact and unmodified. The car runs on diesel as it did before.

However, the magic comes in the addition of LPG to the diesel fuelling mix. The LPG is added in vapour form prior to the turbo (in turbo engines) or prior to the inlet manifold (in naturally aspirated engines). The LPG, comprising about 25 per cent of the diesel flow, burns along with the diesel in the cylinders. The combination of the diesel/LPG fuel gives the greater power output and lower emissions. The reduced running costs come from an improvement that is realised in diesel fuel economy – and the fact that LPG is a cheaper fuel than diesel.

And if you think all this means some kind of bodgy system complete with a space-robbing gas tank – think again! We’re talking an electronically controlled and custom mappable professional LPG injection system, complete with a tank so small that in some applications it can be placed under the vehicle!

I had a LPG system in my mk4 TDI, cleans up the fuel burn and hits like nitrous. Mine timed in from mid throttle to full open.

Finally! I've been dreming of adding a CNG kit to mine a long time ago. They say you can get around 80mpg on your diesel!
Problem is, there's only one CNG fueling station in Detroit. So I'd have to have a small compressor in my garage.
So LPG might be the better alternative of the two, yet a little bit more expensive on the fuel.

In comparison with the meth, you'd loose the cleaning effect on the CBU though. Not sure if either LPG or CNG has any positive effect on CBU.

If fuel efficiency is your goal, it sounds like LPG or CNG has the advantage.

Good point. Do you expect them considerably higher? I don't do much pulling or hard driving. Just a 50mile commute every day. EGTs are at 300C ( 575F).
Are there any other concerns?

More in regards to full fueling conditions if you're adding it then.

Yup, did some research. I'm still checking into it, but kind if leaning toward a LPG system at this point,(cost is 1/4 of cng) with essentially the same gains all around,(mpg/hp) Looks like a pretty easy install as well, with double the milage
With both systems you just add gas, not a 100% switch over, it's about a 50/50 mix either way,(LPG, or cng)

Seems to be pretty straight forward. Most expensive part is the high pressure tank which will also cost you a lot of space in your trunk.
Here's a pretty good introductory read. They guy also mentions the increase in EGT and advises to monitor it.

Are you DBLog from TDIclub? I had mine for power really, I didn't do enough distance driving to be of any-use to anyone for mpg savings. Roundtrip was 10 miles in Louisiana and once I arrived in NV where I could have used it (60 miles roundtrip all highway), the daily temps had the tank safety weeping in the car so I removed it.
