it was 1DmkII and Canon 600 f4L

I haven't shot any images of the new 335i, as I just haven't had any time.
Working 70 hour weeks and have an 8 month old son, so any free time I have is his ! ;-)

My latest moon shoot with my new Canon 70-200mm 2.8 IS on Canon 40D.

This is 100% crop.

Gorgeous shot, btw.......

That, unfortunetly OVER exposes the moon.
to get it perfect, you would have had to exposed for the scene and framed out the moon.
Then, double expose the moon in the place you wanted it at.
Like my other thread, of the Boston Sky line....
That was a double exposure.

There is NO way to expose both pieces of this frame properly.

Email me a high res file of this shot and let me play with it, for fun.
I think you'll be stoked with the outcome.
If you're not offended by Photoshop work.

Hope the explanation helped.

Kurt

There is one way - gradient filter. Harder to use, but lots of fun to play with.

Grad would get it closer, but it's still too many stops different.

PROPER exposure of the moon and ANY exposure of extended time, will have them too far apart.

And, in his case, would cause a major change in sky look, as even a SE grad would NOT do a good job in his particular case.

Multi exposure, IN camera or IN post is the ONLY way.
