What are you gonna use to remove all that gunk? Is there a specific product? Or just like a brush or something?

My sponsor shop doesn't have a walnut blasting machine which is the best way of doing it so we seafoam it and brush out and suck up all the junk out of there . Second best of doing it . Nothing beats wallnut blasting though

How did you make sure the gunk didn't get into the cylinders through a value that might be slightly open?

Valves closed nothing gets in. Yours has been done before as that isn't that bad.
I had mine cleaned so cheaply I could not buy the cleaning tools for what I paid...

Mine were bad and not bad at the same time lol . Some of the values looked horrible while others weren't to bad .
