My amazingly obscene dog...

So one of my dogs gets really dry skin in the winter and has taken to some rather entertaining ways of itching herself. Thought I would share, lol.

she already gets her monthly shots at the vet and has cream that we use in between. Its not like I abuse or neglect any of my animals, if that is what you were implying?

Try putting a few drops of cooking oil in his food. It usually helps with dry skin and scratching.

If his fur needs some help with density and shine, you may want to get a over the counter product to help with that also while curing the dry skin. It usually has a mixture of fish oil and vitamin A. A variety can be found at Petco or any other pet stores.

I would use cod liver oil far before cooking oil. I give it to my dog everyday and her coat is nice and shiny and no itching/obesity.

Yeah, we have been using some Alaskan Salmon Oil dog food supplement that our vet recommended also. Comes in a nice large bottle with a pump on the top for ease of use. We used to get the smaller non pump bottle and it could be quite the fish-smelly-mess.
