American Eagle Captain buys pizza for delayed passengers

An American Eagle captain bought pizza-with his own money,when the flight was diverted to Waco,then delayed.

With the trouble we have been having with rain and delayed flights, we had an unusual experience on American Eagle last week.

Just as we were 10 minutes out of D/FW, we were diverted to Waco. With no idea how long the wait would be, our pilot had pizza delivered to the entire plane, which he paid out of his own pocket. He would not accept any cash from any of us, saying it was his party.

One hears of so many nightmare stories about flying lately that I'd like to thank Capt. Mike Smith of American Eagle.

weird..i read the same thing about a pilot doing it on Continental...I wonder if its a myth!

i wish someone did something like this for us when we got canceled in DC a few weeks ago, instead we got to wait in a line for THREE HOURS NO FUCKING LIE to get new tickets, which were for the next day, were not given a hotel room and then they lost my luggage for 3 days

they did however bring us leftover snacks and juice.. yay :sarcasm:

you should have seen what happened when people tried to cut in that line, it literally moved 1 person every 10 minutes, we took peoples fucking heads off

+1. Well not sure about ordering pizza. But besides the crap they had awhile back they are a classy company.

Recently a customer posted that Jetblue reimbursed him $100 without telling him after his flight was delayed a little. They know what's up.
