Yeah, never pushed it? A Turbo? What's the point of one?

Guess you should've had a V8, lol.

At least you didn't get to experience the plastic coolant tubes splitting and dumping coolant all over. That would have completed your Cayenne adventure.

My least reliable was a Fiat 128. It ended up as a goat playhouse filled with dirt on a farm in Northern California.... goat cheese yum.

2006 B7 A4 2.0T.

6k miles - coil pack
9k miles - coil pack
14k miles - coil pack
20k miles - pressure control valve
21k miles - coil pack
24k miles - coil pack
30k miles - coil pack, also developed a headlight flickering problem (lights would turn on and off rapidly, then stay off and give me a dipped headlight error. Dealer refused to acknowledge or fix it, told me the problem could not be reproduced)
34k miles - coil pack

I'm surprised I held onto the car for so long, but after that coil pack and the ridiculously dangerous headlight problem I finally gave up on it. Thank god 35k on the E93 and no hpfp problems (or any problems for that matter).

Goddamn! Coil pack issues? Really? I thought that was only an issue on the 1.8T?! I had a 2.0T GLI before my current Bimmer and the main problem was... everything hahaha. PCV, DSG transmission, crank shafts... the list goes on. So many recalls in a matter of 2 years of ownership. My sister owns the new S5. How are you liking yours?

1999 E39 M5! When it was right it was a fantastic experience to drive but as it did frequently, when it goes wrong it makes you rue the day you ordered it. Sold it at a horrific loss eight months after ownership and didn't step into a BMW showroom for the next three years.

Best and Worst:

'99 E36 M3

Tramsmission issues: Beginning at 3000 miles...was hard to get it into 1st and 3rd gears. Was at the dealership @10times (Couldn't duplicate) Finally replaced entire transmission at 38000miles (Warranty. At dealership 2 weeks).

Broke 6 foglights.

All gauges stopped working for a few days. WOOHOO a no mile roadtrip.

A brake squeal from new. Not the normal when your brakes are at the wear indicators. Warranty...new rotors and pads. Those lasted till 5000 miles. Another complete warranty on new pads and rotors.

and my favortie...5 times the traction control unit and parts had to be replaced.

Even with all the problems, this was a fantastic car. My 135 is not near what this car was. (I was hoping) So balanced and precise.

As far as BMW service, FANTASTIC. All in all they probably had my car 30+ days, I didn't mind being without. Always had a BMW loaner vehicle ready for me. Called me Mister ... lol. Once even while I visited Florida, I had a Z3 vert. Got to drive a bunch of their cars. Z coupe was my favorite. Even the E36 128 was a fantastic car. Got to know the service manager well at my local BMW service. He even told me, "Don't ever own any high-line vehicle out of warranty, unless you don't care about money."

But sadly and happily let her go after 3 years and 45000 miles.

This is what I don't get BMW and Fans of BMW say that their cars are so well built, but a lot of people seem to have lists of issues with them. I just don't get it.

If my car wasn't as fun as it is or still having problems, it would be gone.

335i lol, 2 fuel pumps and numerous other issues. The days of all German cars being well built (reliable) ended in the late 90's and early 2000's when electronics took over and cost cutting strategies where adopted.

my passed cars

1997 Integra
2004 SRT4
2005 STi
1998 WS6
2008 Scion XB
2006 SRT8300C
2004 SRT4 (again)
2007 BMW 335i

sad to say - the BMW is a shitbox compared to all of those cars.

in the 8 months i had it, i've taken it to the dealership twice. neither of my garbage SRT4's went in for any mechanicalelectrical issues.

the first SRT4 would get trashed and dogged weekly. the STi took about 75% of that same abuse only because i was getting older and had a baby.

the american shitbox GM even stayed together but it was my A4 daily driver.

the Scion was always on point and the SRT8300 is full beast mode.

**knocks on wood** my cars have always been well maintained and taken care of.

.....BUT, if you're comparing which one has given me the MOST problems, i'd have to say the trashy BMW - freaking sensitive ass car.
