Which would be a better buy Audi S-5 or RS-5? Is it just like BMW 335is & M3

I'm looking for something in the future just like I was with the 335i that I now own. I have always wanted a BMW M3 but when the E92 came out I simply loved the less buldge of the 335i.

So my question is that an Audi A5 vs. Audi RS5 just like the kind of relationship the 335i and the M3 have?

Would it be best to buy an A5 and throw parts at it and be just as good as an RS5 but for less money? Or is RS5 hard to get to with the S5 platform????

I kinda look at the Audi A5 like BMW 328i, the S5 to the 335i and the RS5 mile the M3. Not sure where the 335is would fit in this. Just a little more expensive on Audi cars, but not sure on performance toe to toe who has the edge...

I love the look of the RS5 and the very similar five spoke rims!!!! I might even say that I would not be able to choose which is better -- the BMW 230 style rims or the Audi TTRS coupe rims...
Give me your thoughts...

Yes, the differences are pretty substantial between the S5 and RS5. I love the car but I've heard the oversteer and overall driving sensation is pretty numb and uninvolving.

I don't like the F30/F32, but if you already own a 335i Coupé, why won't you stay with BMW, and get the 435i Coupé?

S5 (V6 Compressor) is like 335i/435i has better tuning potential, RS5 is like M3 E92, both Audi being "worse" than their BMW counterpart.

Audi A5 - I4 2.0 Turbo
Audi S5 - V6 3.0 Supercharged
Audi RS5 - V8 4.2 NA

If you're looking for a straight replacement for you 335i, it would be the S5.

The 435i is not appealing at all right now. The exterior design is just not to my liking. It does not have sexy passion.

As far as the understeer and uninvolving, that can be remedied with a rear swaybar and suspension bits. The numb part, not sure if that means steering feel... If so, can't do much with that.

I am not looking for a replacement, just an addition to the fleet.

I love how the Audi RS5 looks and maybe it due to the love I have of the styling of the E92. They are very similar - just that the RS5 is just a little bit bigger. And maybe since the current 3 and 4 series got bigger -- this is what it should have been more like for the coupe (Audi RS5).

Look how similar they look! I want one, but not at $60k used!!!Name: Silver Audi RS5 1.jpg

Here are both my S5 & E92 335i. Both are 6MT, If I can only keep 1 car, S5 for sure. The 3.0 supercharger & 6MT from the S5 is way better than 335i. Handling & brake are tie. Looks is subjective. But make sure S5 come with sport diff and always have dynamic mode on. Otherwise steering feel sucks. Is RS5 worth it? yes, absolutely but I can't live with driving an auto so I am happy with my MT S5.

I think you can most of the speed of RS5 from an S5 with a relatively cheap tune:

However, RS5 would still have better brakes, etc.
Also keep in mind that the S5 went from V-8 to V-6 a few years back, so if you are buying used you need to make sure the tune is available. The tune in the video above is for V-6, which was on S-4 at an earlier date.

I absolutely adore the motor in my B8 S4 (same as V6T S5). I put an AWE exhaust on it and it sounds like a high end exotic.

Yeah, I saw the video earlier, that's what really made me think on whats best. Thats kinda why I really like the 335i - the tuning potential is so there but the M3 would be a cash cow to get more out of it like the amount you can just get with a JB4.

The wheels are 20 inch! And the brakes are sweet!

with JB4, N54 give more raw power and is rough when compare to the silky smooth 3.0 supercharger. But love the looks on both so after struggle for a while, plan to keep both instead of trade in the E92. And that RS brake is pure sex! It is a direct bolt on for S5. When I plan for BBK, it will be one of the top choice. But that RS caliper require 2 set of brake pad! because it is 8 pot! BTW, I have the same style of rim for winter, it is just as good looking as the type 92

a friend of mine got a 2013 RS5. pretty cool car, also very rare car.

IMO the both S5 and RS5 look very good. BUT the selling point of the RS is the V8. Thats what separates the cars. You want a Sexy Audi with a V8 growl?
