Conn's is trying to screw me!!
Bought a T.V. from them with 0 percent for 12 months with this month being the last. I was told TO MY FACE that there is a 10 day grace period from the day the payment is due. Since you have to actually go to the damn store to make a payment I had to wait till today, which is my day off, and the fuckers are trying to charge me 600 dollars in interest ON MY LAST PAYMENT!!!! Their corporate office is a joke and the manager was like "I'm denying your request because you should of read the contract" I was like dude, your employee told me there is a 10 day grace period! This is my third T.V. from them and I never had a problem before, what should I do? I made all my payments on time and never had a problem and now on the last payment their trying to charge me 600 in interest. I have excellent credit with no blemishes but I am williing to take this as a charge off because this is fucking bullshit. Their employee lied to my face and I have to suffer for it. I'm going to try again tomorrow with their corporate office and I am also going to report this to my local news because it seems like a common thing that Conn's does. I'm also planning on filing this with the FTC because there is no fucking way I'm going to pay 600 dollars interest when my account has been in excellent condition and the only reason this happaned was because of their idiot employees.
Any other suggestions?

Let me summarize your dilemma: You had 10 days to make a payment, but you needed to pay the TV off before the year was up to avoid interest (in this case it's $600.00).
Dude, I would say you're screwed. You can certainly jump up and down and scream, but you didn't follow the terms of the contract. Edit: $600 seems like a lot of interest. How much was the TV, and what interest rate ?? |

I was lied to because the lady told me that interest is only charged if your payment is receieved over 10 days late. There are no statements, you just have to go into the store every month and pay! Shit is so lame.

Dude don't listen to employees. Case in point: bought a tv and the salesman said I have 30 days to buy an extended warranty (cus I wanted to sleep on it). I came back like 2 weeks later to buy it and they said you only have like 3 days or a week.
Anyhow, usually promotional offers like "12 months no interest" means that you have to pay it off by the end of 12 months or else you will be charged the interest accrued. There is no such thing as a grace period. It's all bullshit I know but you have to be tough on them (threaten legal action?). |

fuck off I didn't wait till the last minute. Everything was fine but their idiot employee lied to my face. You have to go in and pay at the stupid store instead of being able to pay online like every other normal electronics store. Quote:

No, I've just always been taught to save up your money so you can buy it in full. Then there is no need to worry about outstanding debts or accidentally missing payments.

Thanks, I don't think they were trying to set me up to fail but I do think that lady was an idiot and lied to my face without giving a shit. Like I've said, this is my third time to buy a tv and I have never had this problem before. It's terrible that they would do this to a repeat customer
