Is this a cold, or is it something more?

I've become a bit worried over the past couple of days. I have been sick before in my life where you can cough up junk and what not but never the feeling where if I take too deep of a breath it feels like my lungs can't/won't expand anymore... it is like a tickling feeling and then I start coughing like crazy. My cough is not triggered unless I inhale too deep. I do not smoke, never have. I used to live in a house where my mom smoked but now I don't and I am only 22. I have that somethings in my throat feeling but when I try to take a deep breath to cough it up purposely it just backfires and makes me cough but not deep enough to bring anything up. Is this just a cold or what?

Normal in out breaths are fine but if I find myself breathing too deep on accident it feels like if you were to inhale ice cold air through your mouth as deep as you can. That weird tickley uncomfortable feeling and it triggers me to cough and cough and cough

Sounds like you need to see a doctor to listen to your lungs.

I'm no doctor but when I read the way you described it it immediately reminded me of when I had Bronchitis, go to the doctor see what he thinks. When I had it I went after a few weeks because it didn't go away much.

Usually lung pain like that means theirs a tear in the lung which allows air to leak out. Had tha happen to me, definitely one of the worst moments of my life. I'd check with the doctor as soon as possible. Don't want it to get worse now.

It isn't that painful sore through hurts to cough feeling. Its that I cough and cough and cough and stuff barely comes up unless I work real hard at it annoying kind of cough and tingly feeling that triggers it. Its not shortness of breath, I'm not feeling asthmatic but when I attempt to TAKE a deep breath it fails big time... nothing deep about it

I'd get that checked out a.s.a.p...

I would strongly advised getting tested for tuberculosis.

BTW; a car forum is no place to come for medical advice.

1. Go to a doctor, and seek medical attention.
2. Don't panic before you have too.
3. Sounds like you may have had a cold and during the process you were having nasal drip into the back of your throat. This usually would account for the annoyance of taking deep breaths and coughing. If that was the case (don't hold me to it) the doctor would usually put you on a prescription for Amoxicillin ( If it is a bacterial infection) and should go away within ten days.

If you're ever worried see a doctor.

Does your lower back ache or feel tense?

is your chest wheezing when you inhale? Kinda like turbos spooling in your chest when you inhale? could be fluid in your lungs. I've had similar coughs before too, but i took it as a cold and it eventually went away. I am far from being a doctor, and i don't want any liabilities...so i'll recommend you go see a doctor for your case.

Dude, see a doctor. Maybe you need to drive your car more often, that usually cures any problems I have

There's a vaccine people can get for pneumonia. You can look into getting it after this one heals up.
