Service Engine Soon light came on :(

I have a muffler delete and a catless downpipe installed so I'm hesitant to take it to the dealer. Anyone know if it would be an issue? I have no clue why it came up

Edit: I think it might be because of the catless downpipe, but it was installed like 3 weeks ago and I didn't have an SES light come on until now.

Catless dp is likely the cause. The SES light doesn't come on until a full drive cycle is completed.

I am running the same set up and my SA is cool and clear the code but it came back up again because the sensors are not meeting emission codes therefore unless you get a catted DP it won't go away.

I'll give you the clue. You removed part of the emissions system...

+1. Doesn't NYS do emissions testing? If so inspection time will be fun for you.

Get a JB4, turn auto clear on, fixed (check the codes first). You can certainly pass emissions with a DP fix too. Or buy a $20 scan tool.

I heard Rallye was pretty cool about mods, I've read about people bringing in their FBO cars and getting serviced with no problems.

+1 I'm FBO and Rallye is cool with me getting warranty work done. You should get a JB4 though. Makes the car faster and you have the ability to read and clear codes without wasting your time at the dealership.

+1 or invest in a BT cable and be able to read the codes yourself

Thank you for the help guys I really appreciate it. I'll invest in a JB4 to clear the codes. But if they hear how loud my car is at the dealership will they void the warranty?

All depends on how cool you are with your SA and if he has some leverage with shop foreman

I never understand people who get catless downpipes and not a tune. Seriously, what the hell is the sense in that? If you want sound, get an exhaust. If you want power, get a tune...and then go FBO. Downpipes do pretty much nothing with a tune besides give you a CEL.

Wrong. Those numbers are for a stock DP tuned car vs a catless DP tuned car.

Downpipes have a big effects on back pressure and general exhaust flow. Saying that tho, I would never do a DP without a tune and full system otherwise its not really worth it.

Really. The OP removes the major part of the emissions system and doesn't expect the OBDII system, which was specifically developed to monitor the efficiency of the emissions system, not to throw a code.

Sorry if I hurt anyone's self esteem, but if you need to hit yourself in the head with a hammer just to verify it will hurt (after everyone and commonsense tells you it will), then there is a term for that...

Dumb Ass.
