New G37 Dyno numbers

Check out this link to Automobile Magazine. They have the Dyno numbers for the new Infiniti G37. Quite an improvement but way off in the torque department from the 335.

http://www.automobilemag.com/multime...7_dyno_videos/

For comparison, here is the 335 chart from the same dyno.

good link thanks. Numbers look pretty good. I like the 335 being a turbo 3 litre. A 3.7 is huge IMO. Both are great but I will take the TT setup for tuning.

I don't know if it is a fair comparison to compare a non turboed larger displacement engine to a TT lower displacement engine.

the 3.7L doesnt nessecarily deal with how big the engine is, but how much it can hold fluid-wise. You have to look at the cc.

Those are really good numbers.

The torque cruve is pretty impressive. Very flat.

The last video i thought they were dynoing a lexus blitz. Looks like one from the front.

quite honestly i'm pretty unimpressed by those numbers for the G37.

especially when compared to a stock e46 M3. the G37 is making similar peak torque and the hp is also just barely more all from an engine with half a liter more displacement than a stock e46 M3. it's not like we are comparing apples to oranges either, the G37 is NA and 'rev happy' just like the e46 M3.

i don't think stock 335 owners have anything to worry about with this car.

well the M3 is an M car which BMW dumps a lot of money researching and squeezing horsepower from their powerplant. G37 is simply just a mass production coupe from Infiniti.

more info from that automobilemag article...

http://www.autospies.com/news/2007-B...a-Ringer-8674/

We did four runs with that particular car, and the actual peaks were 276, 280, 280, and 283 horsepower. We published the lowest number to be sure there was no claim that we were exaggerating the engine’s output.

true to an extent. they use that engine in their sports cars, IE: G35/350Z so it's not just a typical commuter car engine. the e46 M3 powerplant is also based on 6 year old technology. i figured at the very least the 3.7 liters of displacement would make significantly more torque than the s54...guess not

I'm not so sure i'd go as far to say the maxima's interior material is nicer (maybe they give you better stuff overseas? lol), but +1 on bmw interiors being subpar to their german rivals

I liked my Maxima's interior, the material is better than the 335's, especially on the dash which was soft touch not these cheap hard recycled stuff they use now. BMW's interior quality is not as good as Audi's or Mercedes' BTW so what? Compare apples to apples, of course a Sentra's interior is not going to match a 40k car's interior.
LOL what kinda drugs they got over there ROFLMAO wow....Me being a previous G35 owner that would be a definite fuck no!!!

I have a g35 in my garage now as we speak, the exhaust to the car is great but power delivery isn't good at all, it comes in just like a turboed car, not an NA engine at all. I have to see the new G37 in action, I saw it at the auto show and thought it looked quite good, interior appointments looked very good esp. the side bolsters (huge compared to my car) and the leather is (if anything like the new sedan) quite softer than my 335i.

The plastics unfortunately if anything like the sedan is horrible, it's hollow and you can hear just how hollow it is by knocking on it (not good at all). This is good car for what you get from it, I would definitely have looked at buying it if I couldn't afford my 335. Just counting my lucky stars that I can.

How about the fact that the look of the car has been softened to the point where you need to see it only has two doors to tell the difference between the sedan and the coupe.
