server pc for gaming?

we're trying to put a gaming room together, does it make sense for each of us to buy a single desktop or chip it for a server type if pc and each get their own LCD + keyboard/mouse ,etc.

where can i get more info on server gaming pc? we have about 6-10 people

everyone needs a gaming rig powerful enough to handle what you want to play AND you need a server to host.

i don't play the new computer games, someone else here will probably know more about specifics.

best bet would be separate pcs. for gaming you can build em pretty cheap. I work at a comp store so i can give you a ruff estimate if you need.

yeah get seperate PC's, game streaming even over a LAN just isnt worth it, and Virtual desktops are not meant for gaming. it would end up as cheaper and easier in the long run just to buy a few competent pc's in a bulk setting, then upgrade them as needed.

I recommend contacting manufacturers on prices for "6+ gaming machines"

How good are your displays? What resolution? If you're doing 60hz monitors, you can get away with cheap AMD APUs that run less than $300 a machine if purchased in bulk.

If you're doing 75+hz panels (maybe even 144hz) and need GPUs to match, it might go into the $400s. LoL is a very low-demand game, graphics-wise.

Is it a dedicated gaming room? Do you even need cases?

Let me know what your budget is. And, AFAIK, I don't think Riot lets people host because they are a F2P, micro-transaction-based business model. No one would buy anything if you can just mod skins client-side (although many people are already doing this).

I've had a server in my office before, and it's VERY noisy. I cannot imagine that thing being on all the time.
