My old truck. Was told it looked like something either a politician or gangster would drive.

Why would you question him having his wheels coated properly? You can't tell a difference maybe via pictures, but in-person you can, and it's definitely better quality.

To me murdered out is a stupid fucking term because what does murder have to do with the color black. If anything murdered out should be referred to a car that has way too much red on it.

Now blacked out, murdered out, or what ever the fuck you want to call it is awesome if you happen to be Batman rolling around in a Batmobile of some sort. Otherwise you're going for a look that has been played out about as long as spinning rims (or spinning hubcaps for you broke bastards out there).

I dig all the cars pictured in this thread. My E46 ///M was black with black everything. I loved it.

Played out or not, my E92 is black everything except the orange wrap. When the wrap goes, it'll be murdered or blacked or whatever and I think it'll look dope. *shrug*

There is a HUUUUUGE difference, in both looks and quality. Far away pictures may look similar, but in person looks and quality are waaay better with powdercoat. The only thing I have plastidipped is my emblems, otherwise it's just cheap..

It looks like someone stole they're hubcaps. With all black wheels there's no way of telling if you paid $500 or $5k. It makes nice cars look cheap and cheap cars look cheaper.

What do you consider a "gangsta car" to be? Im sure not all gangstas have the same tastes. I have 20% tint on my '98 Eclipse Turbo & no one thinks I'm a gangsta.

exactly, I dont consider anything a gangsta car, that term is extremely subjective in my eyes and frankly, think it's lame anyone has to say that. I've noticed that if an older conservative person sees "said gangsta" in a car, their social stigma agenda of that person are cast upon the same fleet of vehicles that the "gangsta" drives.

Where Im from is very conservative, so if you have tint on the windows you HAVE to be up to no good...or so I've noticed. Basically anything with tint in my area is a "drug dealing car"

Tint stigma=dumb

100% agree. When most people see a young minority or a white guy who thinks he is in a hoopty such as an old Cadillac or Crown Vic with dark tint, 24's and bright paint (or no paint) they think gang banging drug dealer. Especially the police. I was 25 when I got my 1st sports car, definitely no hoopty, and being black I was often harassed by police. They automatically assumed the only way I could have a nice car and chick is dealing drugs. A young black male with a good job, yeah right. I wasn't implying everyone with a blacked out car was up to no good, only that I don't see the appeal of all black wheels on a black car. If you're gonna roll black wheels you have to get polished lips.

Well said. On the black on black now the trend is going a dark charcoal, which still shows the features of the rim and you dont lose the design in the "blackhole" that a black on black car can produce. Plus lighter rims make the curves of the car pop

anyway the murdered out look is pretty subjective it can range from black rims with a black car to fully blacked out where it looks like a black hole on wheels. When done right it does look sexy though
