So far, just $300 on shift/brake boot and ZHP shifter. Still have lots of plans, money's just being spent on other necessities and vacation right now.

On my truck I spent somewhere north of $5K. Wheels, body mod, audio, etc.

I really don't think its retarded. If you enjoy modding your car then I don't see anything wrong with it. When I put 20k into my s2000 I ended up parting it out and getting almost 15k back after I sold the parts (I got a lot of parts at cost and others I just found deals on through s2ki). So, I was able to drive a car for three years that was built exactly to my taste and was unlike any other one on the road for 5k in the end, and I loved building it to that point. I guess it depends what you're into, but there are plenty of more expenisve hobbies out there that wouldn't bring me half the amount of satisfaction that I get from modding my cars.

I spent around $12k on my last car, and while it wasnt the greatest investment, I really enjoyed the car while I had it. I liked having it be different than all the others that were built just like it.

For the BMW im about $5k in. Dont wanna do much more since its only a lease, and I was buying my last car (sold it anyway). I cant hold onto something for very long, I get bored with it and want something new. I have had my E90 for only 8 months and am ready for a new one
