Come to northern california. Three shootings on the freeway in the past 4 or 5 days. All due to people having road rage. Hell, come to Oakland and try what you did. LOL It'll be an eye opener for you. You might look like my avatar at the end of the day.

Just be careful out there guys. It's not worth risking your car or life over.

Better yet assault rifles. Hydrostatic shock from a high-velocity rifle round to the internal organs and central nervous system will usually be instantly fatal. You won't have to hang around while they slowly die from blood-loss from a 9mm wound, or knife wound from a bear-knife. That might give them time to get a few more shots at you from their pistols.

maybe its bc im just layed back and i really dont care but ill just leave it up to you guys that want to put an end to it..

He then flips me off, so now I knew I was dealing with an asshole....ok, whatever. So the light turns green and he takes off a bit and so do I then.......................BRAKE CHECK OF MY LIFE! Its true when they say that time slows down and you get a random memory or two flash in your head when something terrible is about to happen. Im still kinda shaken up as im writing this. He braked checked the shit out of me, as if he seriously didn’t care if I hit him. We're talking SLAMMED on his brakes and with just less then 6 feet between us AND my DTC off...I still made it, tires screeching to halt, but made it....thank god for those BMW brakes that proved themselves worthy even with DTC off. "But wait, theres more"

He flips me off again and by now I have completely backed off because I had just realized, and in the most uncomfortable way, that this guy was nuts. He pulls into the lane next to me and motions for me to pull next to him, of course I did not. I quickly flashed my bights twice hoping that it would send a white flag "I give up, you win" message to him. But instead....he swerves into my lane so hard that AGAIN I had to slam on my brakes. He was a ****** looking ***, with a white baseball cap, probably mid 30's. He looked at me and I threw my hands up and was like WTF?! Though I doubt he could see me through my tint and at night. I needed to turn left at the light and he was going straight and he yelled "Where ya goin!!"

I made it to the red light up ahead and was praying that it turned green before his light did for fear that he would throw something at my car, hit it, get out.....or who knows what else. I just said please God turn this light green, please God turn the light green. And it did, and I turned, shaken up as all hell and still in disbelief. Very bad experience and im just left in disbelief at how serious someone can take a high beam flash ESPECIALLY when they know they royally fucked up and cut you off. I swear on my life that I was just an angel's breath away from hitting him when he brake checked me and when he swerved at me. Very scary experience. After he swerved at me I quickly thought to myself, ok fuck this, this is out of hand and I need to call the police, but then reality set in quickly and I thought to myself that A) I don’t have enough time to memorize his license plate and B) Theres probably not much a cop can do anyway.

I've been driving like a grandpa for a while now and I rarely give people shit on the road, and after this I wont even flash a high beam anymore. I was also in fear and shock of the thought of what if he spots my car in a parking lot one day and remembers me and keys it or something

Anyway, you never really know who the hell your dealing with these days. This was by far the worst I’ve ever had to endure on the road and I cant believe someone would want to take it that far. How can they not care about getting into a collision?
Some things to take into consideration. Here in Mass, years back a guy high beamed some lady. Well guess what some other guy who SAW IT. Who wasn't involved then went behind the guy high beamed him they both pulled over. and the nosy ass guy then shot the man with a bow and arrow.

That was your first mistake. Sure he was a prick but flashing high beams really pisses people off for some reason.

Secondly, DTC off? Why? What is the need for you to have that off? Plus if you are going in a straight line and brake really hard it is ABS not DTC that will save your ass. So saying that at all was not needed.

Also if it went down exactly as said. We truthfully do not know if other things happened. I especially love how someone who has been driving like a so called grandpa has DTC off? Yea dude we are all retards and buy into your lies.

But let's say this happenes exactly then yea the guy over reacted. But gotta deal and be ready for people like this.

not because i am sure i would have acted differently (because "maybe" i would have panicked the same way as the OP), but because guys are macho and never want to admit weakness. so when a guy admits weakness, his buddies call him a pussy. it's hilarious, and since this is the internet, it's funny that you said that, but at the same time the OP is looking for some help. i know it may sound unlikely, but maybe someday you'll need help from someone on this forum, and always being an asshole will make people not help you.
you might want to suggest to the OP what he could have done differently, "pulling out a knife" is bullshit. what if the other guy has a knife too? It'll get really messy.
Personally, I will be getting a gun licence and pack heat in my car. I'll ignore everybody who pisses me off, but if anyone steps up to my window to threaten me, or throws something at my car, I'm firing warning shots.

So, yes I woulda gotten outta the car and fucked that guys day up, I keep a bear knife in my car

I was drinving in my Titan not too long ago, where 2 lanes become one, with the curb lane turning off and parked cars taking it's spot. Some MILF with a killer boob job in an MDX comes flying right up and tries to squeeze between me and the parked cars. She hits my tow mirror and decides she cant make it. Since she hit me, I pull over about 100ft down the road where it opens up again. She pulls in behind me. I get out of my car, she gets out of hers. Now, she's smokin' hot, and knows it. She starts ranting and raving about how rude I am, how I'm going to pay for her broken mirror, and how my POS truck (which runs the same $ as the MDX, I know, I own one of those too) should yield to her MDX Now, mind you, I haven't said a word. I'm standing on the curb, leaning on my truck, just watching her rant. She gets on the phone and calls her bf/hubby, and starts telling him the story. All the sudden, she stops, shuts up, says OK and hangs up the phone. She looks at my truck (no damage) and says if I don't want to wait around, she doesn't want to either. Now she's trying to be polite. I wish her good day, get in and drive off. So badly wanted to say "nice rack" but I didn't.

Some drivers are just retarded. I haven't been in a position like yours and I don't feel like making a point with dip****s and let them go on their merry way.

A few weeks ago these 2 guys were racing, one in an SUV. I wasn't involved at all and eventually sped up (normally) to get into the right lane on the highway and the SUV pulls up in front of me and sort of blocks me thinking I was racing him and gave me the finger! The guy musta been blind cos I wasn't the guy originally racing him I high-beamed him and he gave me the finger again! I could've easily had this guy for lunch if I wanted to but mommy was in the car with me and she gets scared if I go over 50mph or accelerate suddenly

Lose the battle, win the war and keep your sanity and blood pressure low

Folks, just be cool and calm...there's more to life than just revolving around your BMW!!

Hmm...but I do wonder what my car club's potential would be in similar situations...

You shouldn't piss off someone who drives a lesser car than your Bimmer. You have to realize they have less to lose if things go "nuclear".

OP, sorry to hear about your situation.

Here's what happened to me the other day on the road. This guy was acting like an idiot, cutting everybody left and right and close too. There was a little bit of traffic. A couple of cars honked and high beamed him. When he did the same to me, I got really pissed off and followed him. When I got next to him, he gave me the finger, then he rolled down his window and so did I. He was like, "what are you going to do?" with his hands up. I took off my seatbelt and was about to exit the car, but then thought to myself, what's the use? Is it worth it to go to jail, just to beat up a guy and teach him a lesson? I've been to incarcerated for 3 months before and it's not a nice place to be. It was back when I was 17. I will NEVER put my self in another situation like that again. I just said to myself, one day he's going to piss someone off with a gun and get shot. Another thing that held me back was that my wife was in the passenger seat too.

The point of my story is that there are plenty of assholes out there driving. It's no use for you to do anything if he cuts you off. I know that you might be mad but just let it go. It's not worth getting into an accident over or going to jail over. If that person continues to drive stupidly, he/she will one day get what's coming to them.

Just my $.02

Not trying to kill anyone, do I sound like some lunatic/gangster to you??
Intimidation.. maybe act like i'm going to hit their car a little.
I would never use a bat on a person, because that is attempted man slaughter. (If it comes down to it, i'll sooner drop the bat and fight the person, than use it on him)
But maybe fear will teach them to watch what they do.

what is with you man? No matter what i post you always have to come and down talk me, have i ever offened you? Whatever, thats not the point. Why was my DTC off? Ever tried driving with DTC on in a 335 when the roads are damp? You start to see that you cant go anywhere off of lights becuase your dtc keeps kicking in. I dont drive with full DSC and DTC off, just DTC becuase it can be a bit intrusive, and its a habbit. Listen dude i dont know what your deal is but whatever, its fine, i cant please everybody and there will ALWAYS....always be someone out there who is going to give me sh*t no matter what, so have a nice day

DTC Dynamic Traction Control
DTC is a version of DSC in which the drive output
is optimized for particular road conditions,
e.g. unplowed snow-covered roads. The system
assures the maximal drive output, but with
reduced driving stability. It is therefore necessary
to drive with appropriate caution.
You may find it useful to briefly activate DTC
under the following special circumstances:
> When driving uphill on snow-covered roads,
in slush or on unplowed, snow-covered
roads
> When rocking a stuck vehicle free or starting
off in deep snow or on loose ground
> When driving with snow chains

Activating DTC
Press the button; the indicator lamps for DTC in
the instrument cluster come on.
thanks alot man, i really appreciate you taking the time to break this down for me (no sacrcasim, i really mean it). I knew how to turn DSC off by holding the button down, but i didnt know that DTC was totally new system to take the place of DSC. For some reason I thought that we had 2 levels of traction control DTC and DSC, and not that pushing the traction button once just turns DSC off yet turns the less intrusive program, DTC, on. So thanks for clearing that up for me man.

Word. You guys need to come to Iowa if you don't like that stuff though. Tailgating gets people to move over real quick here in Iowa. I drive about 15 over at most times and tailgate a lot... I have only been brake checked once in my life, and that was by some hick farmer in a pick up truck

When I was in H.S. (which was a long time ago), I had a similar incident where I was on the bumper of someone who was speeding off, and he brake checked HARD and obviously didn't care if I slammed into him. I came close, but was able to stop, and I was shaken up by it. He was driving like an a-hole, sure, but so was I.

These days, if someone wants to drive like an idiot, I just let them. After he flipped you off when it was he who was driving like an ass, you should have just blown it off and not allowed yourself to react.

But whatever, it's done. Move on and don't worry about it. Don't go tailgating any dumbasses anymore.

Bro next time you are in a situation like this, try to lead him to the nearest police station. If you don't know where is one, call up the socal homies and give us a spot to meet up and we'll jump his ass..

Some sorry dude last year had the beating of his life after he tried to brake check me and follow me for a good 10 minutes.

yea, my whole point was that no matter what a person looks like, drives, seems like, or no matter what you may think you know based on a stereotype......its all false. I know, i know, you guys have heard these type of lectures/speeches a million times but i just gotta remind you anyway. Anyone, in any car, of any age, race, or sex, can be insane so please guys just blow it off. I know how much we all care about our cars and all the time, money, and effort spent in modifying them. So to see all of that taken away or damaged in a matter of a few minutes over something completely rediculous......is just a waste. I hate it when i see threads about you guys getting your cars keyed or getting into accidents, so im just trying to give you guys a heads up and a reminder to just keep your cool out there and PLEASE ALWAYS let your ego take a back seat, or better yet, just leave it at home. I know it can be hard to let someone just walk all over you on the road, but at the very instant that someone cuts you off or whatever else (as long as its fairly minor, otherwise if you see that you are about to get hit or are in danger then by all means please honk your horn) just tell yourself that for the sake of keeping your car safe and yourself safe and to avoid consequences that are 10 times worse then what just happened, just say "whatever man just back off....just fuck it....i like my car too much...and remember what happened to me that one night, whatever."

For some reason I thought that we had 2 levels of traction control DTC and DSC, and not that pushing the traction button once just turns DSC off yet turns the less intrusive program, DTC, on. So thanks for clearing that up for me man.
I always hit the DTC button, its gives you more control over the car, I got an LSD for that reason, infact traction control scares the crap outta me, itll kick in mid turn and send you out wider, DTC is great because it lets you control the engine instead of the car. BTW, it doesnt come on M cars, they come with DSC only which is effectively what I do when I hit the button, it's really the best way to drive arround, and if you know what you are doing its the safest.

Just let it go.

There's been a series of "random" shootings on the highway here within the last week. A car rolls up to another car and starts firing away. Road rage or just an insane person? Did someone cut him off? Who fucken knows. I'm not gonna risk my life just to prove a point to some idiot I'll probably never ever see again.

The less people take small shit like this so serious, their easier their life would be.

Don't even sweat it, some people are assholes. Just be glad that you were mature enough to let it slide, and not get into a bigger altercation over nothing.

I once had the same thing happen to me in my E46 where some crazy bitch cut me off, and after I flashed my high-beams to let her know that it wasn't cool that she almost took the front of my car off, she SLAMMED on her brakes and I really thought for a second that I was going to go through her trunk! People turn the smallest crap into such a big altercation that its borderline retarded many times. Just let it slide, its not worth letting the situation get out of control because although you would like to get out of the car and teach whoever a lesson, just think of the consequences once you do. I know, it sucks, but unfortunately it costs you a lot of money and aggravation once you decide that someone needs to learn a lesson over something very stupid.

Just the other day, when driving my 335, some 20 year old girl is driving in the lane next to me and she starts to drift into my lane to the point where I needed to swerve as far over in my lane as I could and accelerate so that she wouldn't side swipe me. So, I honked my horn while accelerating to let her know to stay in her lane. Apparently she got so offended by my one second tap of my horn that she felt the need to then ride up my ass in her 500 dollar saturn and give me the finger while screaming out of her window. When we got to the next light I asked her what the problem was since she almost hit into my car, and she started running her mouth once again. I just laughed it off since this bitch was out of her mind, that's all you can do with people like that.
