1, E63 and C350
FYI -- the C63 weighs 3,814lbs., far less than the E63 I believe.

Even if it's only 200lbs. heavier than the C63, the E63 may have a more front heavy weight distribution though.

Are the C63 brakes really that bad?

Well maybe our pads are unusually worn down? Not likely, considering the primary driver, my mom, babies that thing.

I found braking performance to be equal. No better. I do my usual 120-0 at this off ramp and the ABS kicked in more than I had liked. I was overly confident in the brakes before that point, now I realize (at least fom my experience) that I have to use the same judgment as with my 335i's.

Yes, fade is a problem with the e92's brakes.

And it's not like that's a bad thing. It's a well-rounded, fun to drive car. It's just hampered by weight.

It's more of a handful once you turn ESC off though (sport mode doesn't cut it imo). I find my 335i's handling behavior beyond the limit much easier to deal with. So much so that I prefer to drive with DSC/TC off about 90% of the time.

I think you may be in the minority here. I know I wouldn't have driven my PROcede v3 335i with DTC/DSC completely off (way too much wheel/tire spin for my taste), and I won't be driving my C63 AMG with ESP completely off either; I may try the "sport" mode though.

fwiw, in my BMW ownership experience I found the cars extremely easy to drive. At least compared to my current (and some past) cars.

I think that has a lot to do with the car's popularity. It's more predictable and it inspires confidence early on.

Not a bad thing, mind you. But I think that's part of the "BMW experience."

True, that would make things interesting.

Honestly, I love getting the rear end out, especially when it's in such a predictable car. It's unbelievably forgiving.

This.^

It's hard to explain how simple it is to control this car beyond the limits of grip. If a driver's had a few lessons on car control then it really is cake to slide. Reckless, perhaps; depending upon the location. Fun, hell yes.

Btw the engine gets much stronger once it's broken in. Round 1500 miles and it's prime time haha.

LOL only a tune and you were worried? I drive with it completely off all the time and no issues. I guess a driver's experience has a lot to do with those types of situations.

Congrats on the car. It's beautiful.

Sounds perfect!!!! Now, I just need to "feel out" the 2-3 MB dealers in my area to see if they work with Kleemann ecu tuned MB C63's (on warranty issues if needed). I may do the $1,495 Kleemann K1 ecu flash (to bring my C63 AMG up to ~ 510HP) within the next 6 months if I know there won't be any warranty issues...then take it to the track to see what she can run.

If it wasn't leased I'd just get brembos for a bit more.

and when I hit the brakes lightly the wheel pulls to the right pretty hard and squeels ):
The brakes are made by brembos (same 6pistons monoblock version). If you pull out the calipers, it said brembos on it. Seems the brakes might not be broken in properly.

I've been real easy on my C63 AMG brakes so far after ~ 1,050mi...been downshifting A LOT mainly so I can hear the rev-matching throttle blip and the exhaust "burple," but it's also easier on the brakes since it helps to slow the car down when coming to a stop. So, I guess time will tell as to how long these high performance AMG brakes last.

That's what I already told him in my earlier post. AMG brakes are Brembo. But he needs to know that the aftermarket Brembos are LESS expensive to buy than the OEM, not MORE expensive........
