Dodged a bullet! Flooding in Houston

Just thought this was lucky as I was here a year ago and never had flooding...Would have really sucked to have lost my BMW shortly after buying it.

Quote:
A newly arrived Pittsburg man got a rude welcome to Houston Friday morning after heavy downpours swamped the lower floor of a parking garage at his mid-town apartment complex.

David Marra, 23, woke up with other residents at the Calais at Courtlandt Square apartments at 3210 Louisana to find their cars nearly submerged in about 4 feet of water in the below-ground level parking area.

I would cry if that's what I walked out of my apartment to see.

right? that top picture shows a pool courtyard in front of those cars, the garage was a square with a middle pool area. I parked my car in all the areas the pictures show. That apartment complex while decent quality had some severely lacking maintenance and I hope the people that lost their cars make them pay.

Where did this happen? Was it from the rain last night? I am in Houston and I didn't know there was flooding.

Happened downtown on Louisiana St., apparently from the rains last night, I am no longer in Houston.

New RRS has a 33.5" wading depth. That would have come in handy there.

The souther part of Tampa has MANY streets that hold upwards of 2' of water when it rains hard. (poor drainage) With the M3, i won't even think about driving down there when it rains.

Wow, Sucks!
I had a beautiful ride in to work this morning. With that wierd cold front that went through last night, it was like 73 degrees F this morning and had the windows and sunroof open so I could hear the exhaust. It was a blast of a ride this morning...

Where was the original quote taken from in the first post?

There's a link in the post at the bottom. I do miss Houston's cool mornings that's for sure, but not the flooding or constant rain haha.

Ahhh ha... I missed it.

You should probably edit it and move it above the pics. Just a suggestion...

the inside of my bedroom last night was a 3.5 hour light show.....

each rumbling thunder lasted 8-10 seconds.....

rained for a solid 3 hours last night, even though at my house the rain was "torrential", but it was steadily raining.....

one of the best light shows I've ever seen....
