12k+ miles and still going strong.

Suffered an SUV-backing and a dead battery from the scorching summer heat but other than the cosmetics, it's still a cherry to ride

I prefer Kawasakis but the Daytona's pretty darn good and much better looking; very curious about the '14 refreshed model with the exhaust down low. If anyone has the new model let me know how it rides.

Congrats. 3 months riding total/ever? Take an MSF course (or advanced one if you took the basic already). Safe riding and welcome!

Thanks! Already took the MSF course. Just trying to enjoy the last bit of the riding season before the Chicago winter takes over.

I don't ride but I saw this jaw dropper at a car show last year and I can't stop thinking about it.

Interesting someone posted exactly the same pic back in March with the same comment

As I also commented back in March,

That's a Ducati Diavel. With Termignoni full system exhaust.

I've had one for the past 3 years. It's an awesome bike. Not a track bike, but the most fun street bike I've ever owned. Mine is being sold now but here's a recent shot in her full glory and my red HP Corse pipes.

Nice purchase on the 650. I personally love mine. Great balance and a good enough amount of power for me to not get carried away like on my old ZX10.

I really do miss the liter bike though.

Beautiful Bike. I made the same choice you did about 3 weeks ago. Picked up this panigale 1199s when I was shopping for a replacement for my stolen S1000rr.

IMHO, the Panigale is the sexiest things running on two wheels right now... but she started out a bit more "tempermental" thank I expected. Over the few weeks I've been riding it, I have gotten used to the somewhat unpredictable throttle, but she still catches me by surprise on a rare occassion.

Even though I completely love the look of the Panigale, the BMW just... seemed to perform better. During the daily commute, anyway. The power delivery of the S1000rr was just so smooth and controlled. During the daily commute in moderate/heavy traffic, you can hold the throttle in one position, and the BMW does EXACLTY what you want it to do.

I can tell the Ducati just want to do what it's designed to do, go FAST. I notice that when I tried to use my familiar commuting riding style coming from my old bike by holding the thottle in place, the Ducati gets a little jumpy and won't stay steady in lower RPMs. The new bike only seems to be happy and stable in RPMs above 6K. I have no doubt that is awesome on the track, but on the LIE or SS PKWY at 0700 in the morning, that kind of torque can take much practice and precision to manage.

The BMW was smooth at ANY RPM. So whether your stuck in traffic, or going for a weekend morning "run", the BMW handles both conditions very well.

Like you, I had my eye on the HP4 as a replacement, but the price tag was a bit too heafty for me. I was leaning towards a 2014 S1000rr, but I didn't like the color schemes for this year, and couldn't wait to see how the 2015s would be dressed. Came accross this below, slightly used Panigale for a too good to be true price... and now I have one of the most beautifully designed motorcyles in the world.

I'm still taming her, but she WILL eventually be mastered! lol

I've had a few over the years. I still have my '86 GSX-R750RG and SV-650. The SV has improved suspension and I added a fairing off an SV-S. The luggage holds plenty for weekend getaways.

The RG is more heavily modified. Also better suspension and 17" wheels. Stock it was making 80's for rwhp. I found an extra cylinder head and sent it off to APE for an overbore to 907cc. Larger valves and intakes and from a '92 and carbs from a '94 added 30 ponies for 115rwhp. I found a set of Yoshimura stage 2 cams recently but haven't installed them. It might get five more ponies from that.

Yep.

Currently own a 04 ZX-10R and a 09 848. The ZX-10R only has some mild mods done: Akra slip on, Attack Racing rearsets, etc. The 848 has the full Ohlins suspension upgrade with 25mm fork inserts and TTX rear shock. Both sprung for my body weight with gear and the front fork tubes polished. Also changed out the two piece Brembo brakes to the monoblocks which come on the 1098/1198. And put on Akra slip ons.

And me having fun at the track:

After totaling the Streetfighter with only 1200 miles on it I haven’t picked up a new bike since.

Been eyeing up the Harley 1200 roadster for a while now.

I’ve a ‘96 TL1000S which I’ve had for just over a year now but it has been in the family since 2003. The bike was originally imported from Canada and has the original unmodified Suzuki ECU before they cut the power down.

I used to ride nearly year round, I wouldn't leave on the bike in the rain, but other then that I rode.

I had an FJ1200, then a Ducati 900 SSSP, and then a Ducati 996 Monoposto. I 'retired' from riding around 2005.

I have my dads 2000 Ducati M900S in my garage, it hasn't turned a wheel in probably 6 years.

I've been riding for about 25 years.

Currently 2 bikes in the garage. A 2014 Moto Guzzi V7 Racer and a V Twin custom boardtracker that I built back in 2014/2015. I have a 2019 Honda Monkey on order for my wife.

The Guzzi:

The Boardtracker:

My wife thinking she's funny and placing her "ride" in the background when I'm trying to take a pic of mine. She had just finished installing the coconut cup holder on the handlebars and was quite proud of herself.
