Genuine covers come complete with gaskets and fixing bolts in place. As for other jobs, a good time to do oil filter housing gasket if not already done...

Why are you replacing your ESS? Did you find oil in the connector? This part is kind of expensive to just replace just cause.

Gaskets come with a kit for both valvetronic and ESS.

Check both vanos gear bolts if haven’t been replaced by the recall. Check the vanos timing. Might need the timing special tool for both of the tasks.

I'm replacing my valve cover next month, also UK 2.5L N52B25. Already ordered MILVS from Marty yesterday, will do that now as I don't want to go through opening it all up again any time soon. Might get the breather hose, that one from the back of the cover which has like 75% chance to break... If I do that, I might as well just replace whole CCV with other hoses.

Probably will do oil filter gasket as well at the same time.

Someone mentioned to me that I might as well get new DISA valves for the manifold. They might still be the original ones, car is from 2006. Does someone here knows if those degrade with time and affect performance and I should surely replace them after so many years of service? Or unless broken - do not touch?

Not sure if your N52 valve cover is alloy or plastic, but if it's plastic I would replace the whole cover. It's easy to replace just the gasket and miss a hairline crack or dead PCV system, which then means repeating the whole job again to change the cover.
