13,000 plus miles in 7 months

I got my M3 in June of 2012. I fortunately have the time to enjoy driving the car. I live in an area where you have to drive to everything.

All of my driving has been in SoCal. BUT if I had taken a 13,000 mile trip around North America it would look like this!

I averaged 18k in the NE. Many people do 25-30k/yr.

During ownership of my second 135, I managed just under 47000 miles in a year and a half. Or just under 35000 in 1 year depending how you want to translate it.

My driving pattern somewhat resembled the image in the ops post

I now no longer have the car, I didn't want to be putting that kind of mileage on a modified turbo engine.

That being said, there's no better car then a turbo car in mountains.

Those people must have some seriously long commutes to work or take many road trips then.

What would you consider a long commute?

100 miles of curvy open road is not a long commute. But 2 miles of bumper to bumper is too much.

We're talking mileage here, not time.

I would consider the 46 mile round trip to a former job of mine to be a long commute. That commute alone would put about 12,000 miles on my car a year, and when my other driving was added in, I was right around the average of 15k miles per year.

Yes there is nothing in Yucca Valley, you have to drive to do anything. Unless you want to check up on your meth lab... I keed I keed.
But I can see that. I have put on 11k in 7 months. And that is with a 2 mile commute to work

I use my DD as my office. Last year I logged in over 70,000 miles. Some of my trips are over 300 miles one way and that is a daily trip. My highest year was over 85,000 miles. No I don't lease.

Well I've got 114k KM since May 2009 (3 years 7 months) so my average is 31k KM (19k miles) per year.
