Ahhh...so the reason why you go for reach hugs Billup (aka popeye based on the above illustration), is that you are permanently sporting a stiffie upon meeting other humans?

And a true hug would otherwise give it away?

That "stiffie" as you say is a softy, and causes some severe distress with people, so I need to be a comfortable distance away to make first interactions as little awkward as possible.

It's not what deer do, it's what RAIN-DEER do. Only issue with Rudolph is that he stiffed up the wrong tree on one occasion, if you catch my drift. I don't know why they do it, just one of life's great mysteries, I suppose.
