At the pizza place tonight...
I drive up and park up front next to a Black E92 335...totally stock..at least from the outside...and pull up in my modified AW E90 335...(19 inch Morr Alloys, coilovers, exhaust, front splitters, blacklines, blackout grill) anyway I am in the pizza place..trying to figure out who owns the black coupe...I spy a group of like seven or eight 18-23 year olds..and I am like..nah..dont think any of them own it. Anyway..they leave the pizza place and walk by my modified car and look that the stock coupe. Look at the front..inside the window..the works..they are there for at least 7-8 minutes gawking at the car..but never do they even glance at mine. So I saw to myself...maybe they dont know my car is essentially the same car...weighing in at a few pounds more...or maybe they think mine is a base 3 series..I dunno. So I finally see them leave..and go over to one of those new Chargers...with the bling bling 23 inch chrome wheels. Ah..that explains it..they are car enthusiasts...". When I left..they were still standing around their Charger..so when I started up my "not so quiet, Ultimate Racing exhaust" and took off..they finally looked at my car. I am not jealous of the coupe...I am just amazed how people have no clue what is what. They had one sweet Charger though [/sarcasm]

Dont take it as they didnt like your car. The sedans are just sleepers,
 Thats a good thing. Coupes are always a little more sportier looking thats all. I noticed when I had my 07 330xi sedan few people looked at the car even when it was heavily modified but my 335xi coupe everyone stares at. I honestly dont understand why but must just be the fact that coupes are a little more sportier looking? BTW, Nice car. |

lol funny story.
 Your car is somewhat of a sleeper. Not many people will see the difference between blacklines and regular taillights, and they might fail at seeing your lip and whatnot.

Your mods are very subtle but very tastefully done. It's a great looking car. Don't let a bunch of jokers get to you. People didn't pay much attention to my E90 with full M-tech kit, 3D lip and OZ wheels either. I actually like that better than every one and their cousin trying to race me. I want to go unnoticed, but yet customize my car to my personal liking.

im 19 and got the e90 335i, sometimes i wish i had gotten the coupe because the coupe looks more of a young persons car, but then again i do love the sportiness yet practicality of the e90... if we really think about it, the e90 335 is what bmw is all about in its original formula, making a sports car that seats 5.

After I took off my black wheels with chrome lip and went with the current silver wheels...I stopped getting looks from random people. The only ones who still look are car hobbyists, heh.

Your car still looks great, an "average" enthusiast might not notice the subtle mods like yours, just most people who are here on the boards and can tell a completely stock 3 versus a slightly modded one

Your car looks great. I wouldn't worry too much about what the young crowd is thinking. That's like trying to keep up with clothing and hair style fashion. Unless you are in that age group you're basically clueless.
