On one hand, ford should be commended for its quick response.

on the other- this car barely came out and a serious thing like this and gm's recalls give me a deep pause in buying American.

You're right, since it is not BMW having this issue, and gm has had so many recalls it is not news. We've become numb with defects and poor manufacturing. As long as no one has died, it's no big deal if they forgot to install the brakes or something.

If bmw had this issue I think it would be much bigger news.

laf umm no. I've owned almost all makes including ford. since ur a nissan owner, i've had 2 g35's and never had any major issues or recalls.

when you compare a cars' performance, you should be able to compare their issues and that's what this post is about.

I see you're a former e46 M3 and e9x 335i owner. Plenty of recalls between those two

Meanwhile, BMW will not address the bearing issues prevalent (again) in the E9X M3 that affects far more cars.

Love Ford and my 2005 Mustang GT and never had any major mechanical issues with it. Sucks about the recall though. However, I'm not a fan of a 4 banger in a Stang with ecoboost or no ecoboost. A Stang just isn't a Stang without anything other than a V6 or an V8.

yes. I did not say BMW did not have any recalls. Just sharing a recall for Ford on their new car.

Ever heard of Pony car? There is a difference between a Pony car and a Muscle car. Pony cars were more stylish and affordable cars for the younger crowd. Yes, you could get a V8 but it was a powerful V8 like the Muscle cars had.

Thats the reason why there were so many Mustangs or Camaros from that era with 6 bangers. Affordable for the younger crowd. But, the Mustang was the first Pony car.

At least Ford is doing a recall. There are many of other cars that never had a recall done and they should have. Like a certain engine in the early 2000 Impala's that would BLOW the intake manifold off or the 04-06 (mainly 04 and 05) GTO engine would catch fire from a fuel line rubbing the fuel rail cover.

A brand new body style will always have some sort of flaw. But, it also comes down to when the vehicle was made. Like my 06 GTO had a water pump that died within a couple thousand miles on the odometer and then it was a solid car after that with no issues. But I can read about other 06 GTOs having issue after issue. And same can be said with people owning 1er's.
