College students: share your thoughts on spitting on cars

I went to college in San Francisco and Berkeley, including graduate school, and I never heard of anyone spitting on a car.

But taking our fine cars into the hard cold world subjects them to vandals, road hazards, trucks hauling earth moving equipment that causes rocks to hit our cars (it happened to me 2 days ago), tailgaters, people smashing into our cars, door dings, shopping carts, bird shit, paint overspray, animals on the road and many other hazards. It's a never ending battle keeping our cars pristine.

dude its simple.... if they are this predictable, just sit and wait outside by your car in a concealed location with a baseball bat. i kno i kno, your a hippie. so what. show people you mean fucking business. no one would DARE do that to my car (mainly because i have a security officer sitting 12 meters away from where i park... so no one could fuck with it if they wanted to.)

I live in Iowa City (University of Iowa) and whenever I go down near the bars I worry, my car has been spit on multiple times. Once the guy that did it walked away with a bloody nose, I didn't say anything I just waited until he was about a foot away and punched him right in the face and kept walking. Girl he was with was like WTF?... and then she saw me get in my car and she shut up.

Thank God I am going to be out of a college town in <2 months... counting the days.

Many Americans don't like Germany? Have you ever been to America? I would say the majority of Americans do like Germany. I think certain religions have a pre disposition, but even then they don't dislike the country itself or the current people there.

I think it is more about the car. A Ford GT driven by a young person would get the same treatment here most likely.
