I got my windshield replaced by safelite, however guy who did the work put passenger side wiper arm in driver's side and vice versa.
Help me out, I don't want same tech to come out and mess up even more. safelite might be cheap and fast solution for replacing windshield...my experience has been horrible.

if i remember you just pull off the cap, then unscrew the nut, i think it was a 14mm nut, after that you just have to wiggle the wiper off

Note the location of the wiper before you remove. Place a piece of tape on the glass where the wiper rests naturally and then make sure you return it to the same spot.

Don't even try doing this without a Pitman style pulley remover after you crack and loosen the nut, or you'll be Very sorry. I have a DIY i'm trying to post (upload without success) for the overhaul of the wiper motor which explains. Hopefully soon..

To help i was able to upload these pictures of the tool i used. Loosen the nut a few turns but keep it on the stud while using the tool to keep the tip seated on the stud. It will "POP" when its free. Check the wiper position and torques when reaplying. Still can't upload my PDF, something about security? It's only 7.3MBs in size.

Just had my front windshield and rear window seals replaced (they were cracking, soon to be letting in water), and the glass guys did the same thing. I didn't notice it until it started raining on the drive home (out of state) and had to use them. The driver's side wiper just wasn't quite reaching the entire part of the windshield. How hard is it to find people that do good work these days? Trying the swap in a few minutes.

It's actually a 16mm socket to remove the nut holding the wiper on, but that's not the only thing holding the wiper on...

After gently but firmly tugging on the wiper arm I came to the conclusion that 1) I don't know what the hell I'm doing and should stop before I break something; 2) max1200x is probably right about the Pitman pulley tool (not that I know what it is yet), but if I would've continued in my efforts I have no doubt I'd be taking it to the dealer for replacement.

Can anyone enlighten me as to what a Pitman pulley tool is and how it aides in the wiper removal?

Actually my other post goes into removing the Wiper Motor assy, but has the torquing and position info needed to reinstall them too.

Instructions worked like a charm! The wiper arm is now back in place w/ a loaner tool from AutoZone for free. The whole process took maybe 5 minutes to re-align the wiper.

Thanks, just went to Advance and rented a 2-jaw puller. Did it in the parking lot! Piece of cake, and much easier to deal with than the E46. My windshield guy put the wiper arms on too low.

I can confirm that it is a 16mm nut holding the wiper in place. Oddly enough, the 2-jaw puller I rented had a 16mm bolt head as well! Very convenient.
