had my gixxer600 at 162mph and still had a lot more go, my gixxer1000 hasnt been abused yet but its pretty confident. so they have pretty good top end and they get there fast.

as far as the race discussed here i believe the bike never raced.

i've been riding a lot of years, and i'm no angel on the road, but i have never gotten my bike up to the 175mph range... that's just idiotic on city streets... then again, i live in los angeles, kinda hard to get empty road like that around these parts...
what kind of bike you ride?

Totally on board with all the responses about virtually any bike stomping the 328, but I have to jump in on the Harley coment. Back in the day a 450 Honda could beat a Harley, so no I don't think a harley can whip a 328 or a 335. They also don't have much top end. (The V-rod with it's Porsche designed motor doesn't count here).

Most modern Harley's can do 13 sec. 1/4 miles.

Thanks, Mike.

If you know how to race tuck, the wind resistance really isn't that bad...you can even gain a couple mph top speed just by lifting your butt out of the seat a couple inches and bettering the aerodynamics. Also, I ride in full race leathers, not a hoodie and jeans, so the fit is tight and that cuts WAY down on wind resistance. So, tuck away your BS flag.
Also, top speed runs are saved for the autobahn on Sundays when traffic is low...I would never run near that hot on a street with traffic.
i JUST caught that you're in germany... that's cheating!!! shiet, if i had a autobahn around here in los angeles, i'd be hitting your speeds, lol... if you've ever ridden the freeways out here, you'll know it's next to impossible to hit those speeds, combination of traffic, debris on roads, and condition of roads... my bad for not realizing you were not local... ride safe, keep it rubber side up...

No problem...I can understand that it must be frustrating riding in a place like that. Nice R6 btw...the is one down the street from me...the short pipe is great looking.

I was just going to say that there is a difference between the roads in LA vs Germany :-) Bikes make you feel like that you are not even moving at speeds over 100mph when they pass you on the autobahn.....

Did you ride the 848 yet? Below was the result after I took the demo bike for a ride......

Yeah, maybe if it has screamin' Eagle jugs, but only once. My big fat Valkyrie Interstate will smoke a 328, and run a 335 for that matter, and it just laughs at 'lectraglides. Get real.

most e-glides (except the 103" screaming eagle bikes) won't stand a chance. but just about any softail/dyna series bike made within the last few years will easily run sub 14's with an experienced rider.

very nice

with that bike i don't know how you can say that sport bikes don't have top end . my gsxr-600 was quick as balls, the only car that gave me a run for my money or that i ever ran was an aston martin dbs or db9 cant remember and only cause we went from like a 60-70mph roll, i still won and it was only a 600cc bike vs a 450hp+ car.

btw here is my 600 and my 1000

That's going a bit far... a Formula 1 car will beat a bike around most closed circuits. A bike just won't have the grip to corner fast enough. A Formula 1 car will beat high end bikes in a straight line too. In fact, I'd bet most true hypercars would give top end bikes stiff competition, if not beat them.

I meant a street legal road car, not an F1 supercar. The OP mentioned that his 328i might've beat a motorcycle. F1's aren't even cars...they're land jets with wheels on them.

That would be an interesting topic.

Formula 1 Car vs. Super Race Bike.

I agree entirely that no 3er will ever beat a gsr, busa, or 999.

There is a video somewhere of an F1 on the track with a Superbike...both ridden by professional drivers. The F1 car won hands down...the downforce they generate by the shape under the car literally makes them stick to the road.
