I'm 5-10 minutes early every day. Actually, that's for everything, work and personal. I've actually dumped girlfriends that are perpetually late, as I think it's rude and inconsiderate.

Technically about 30 minutes early. However, I can get to work whenever I want (relatively speaking).

My natural tendency is late. I try to get there early. I usually get there on time.

90-120 mins early, only good time of the day to get work done, and to justify leaving work at a reasonable hour to get to the gym.

Up until a few weeks ago I was ALWAYS the first person to work. Often I am also the one closing the door at the end of the day.

Companies have really gotten away from enforcing punctual arrival and lunch times, it seems. I fired someone on my team for being late all the time, and months later I still get people asking me why was really fired.

I've had numerous conversations with employees where they make it clear that expecting people to show up for work on time consistently is unrealistic, usually featuring elaborate, improbable scenarios. It's hilarious, really. These college-educated professional think it's impossible, but would be outraged if some high school drop-put couldn't make it across town with their pizza in under 30 minutes.

I know what you mean. The company i work for is basically come as you want as long as you work at least 8 hours. I believe this is different in each department though. For me, from a personal stand point, there is no reason anyone can not be in the office by 9'oclock. Any later is just unprofessional, imo.

However, if you're told to be in at 8:30, there's no reason to be any later than 5 minutes. And if you smoke, most smokers generally break for 10-15 minutes per cigarette during the work day. That means that I want an additional 10-15 minutes of time from each person per day.

Again, this is subjective to the field of work. Just my own personal opinion on the topic.

I am neither early nor late, I arrive exactly when I mean too.

I don't have a time to be at work so much as a range... If I roll in anytime between about 0700 till 10AM, nobody gives a shit.

If I'm in a breakfast mood I'll arrive more towards 10 or whatever... It's all good.

Now that is true enough... If I've got a monster deadline, I love to roll in at 0400 and have that 4 hours of peace to get shit done in.

Same here. I'm chronically late, and have been for pretty much most of my professional career. Like the "island time" comment, I like to say I'm in my own time zone.

I usually go in early, but sometimes I'll go in late- however I do work in the family business so there's no penalty. It just means I am behind on my work and have to play catch up.

30-15 minutes early. Less than 15 minutes early is late for me.

1. It is an easy-to-see example of your work ethic and is something people will always remember and point to when they think of how you work.

2. It sets an example for everyone else under you and around you

3. Usually, I can get much more work done in the early morning when there aren't many distractions which makes the rest of the day go by much easier

I guess I'm usually late, but I don't really have a set time to arrive. I work your standard hours, but I usually get there between 8:30 and 9:00, and leave around 5:15, but I don't take an hour lunch. I typically just run to grab something, or bring something, and work while I eat.

Sometimes I wonder if my boss minds, but I always try to make sure I work a 40 hour week at least. It's typically about 8:45 to 5:15, so that leave 30 minutes for lunch, and I rarely take that long.

I should be making more than I do make though, and I still do stuff from home at times, so I honestly don't feel like I'm paid well enough to put in extra hours. If I need to I've stayed until 7pm or later before, but it's not going to be typical with what I'm paid now.

Oh, and to add, I'm in a building part of the business now, and don't really have enough work to keep me busy all day, so it's not like it affects my work or else I'd make sure I worked what I needed to.
