Nah, he's the real thing, Red Bellied Piranha.

They look pretty similar when they are young though. In that pic he's only about... I think around 6 months old. That was back in March. He's grown a little more since then, but I don't have a more recent pic.

Pacus get huge though. Up to 2 feet long. I couldn't keep those even in a 120 gallon. They need about 250 gallons.

I owned a salt water tank for over 5 years starting from 1998 I've had so many different fishes that I've literally lost count. My favourite fishes are the Picasso Triggerfish, yellow lemon peel angelfish and the yellow damsel. My Dad sold the tank because it was too much work. I learned that the Tomato clown fish and orange clownfish didn't get along. One of my first fish I owned was the Tomato clownfish. About a year later, we purchased a orange clownfish and the Tomato clownfish almost fought and killed the orange clownfish. Different species of clownfish don't get along together. We had live rocks from Fiji and sea anemones which really broughtthe tank alive.

If you want to start with a salt water aquarium, buy a few damelfishes. They are very very very hardy. They'll survive on algae alone!! Owning a salt water aquarium is extremely fascinating!! You'll never know what will happen at night or when you're away and there might be a surprise in the morning.

These are expensive fishes. I used to go to the aquarium store to buy frozen fish food and I'll dream about owning one of them or two.

Man I got hooked on micro-reefs about 7 years ago and I watched my money and free time get completely consumed. It is a great hobby but the upkeep is insane. I was constantly worried about the water quality, lighting, etc...I had a 55 Gallon with a bunch of SPS corals. I also had a 55 freshwater with cichlids which was great and MUCH easaier to keep up with. It did not come close to the beauty of the mocro reef though..

I've only worked with nano's I haven't upgraded to a bigger habitat because of how much work I have to put into it. My tank is 2 years old and is running strong 78 degrees constant temp with a salinity of 1.026 all year around. My SPS and soft corals are growing insanely. Maybe one day when im out of school I can get more time to do a bigger habitat

Beautiful tank... I love the clams and SPS frags! Only objection is that I wish some of your powerheads were more concealed...

Are you running sumpless? I don't see an overflow anywhere.

Any inverts aside from the usu. scavenger crew?

Very nice tank. I've never seen a tank like yours at my aquarium shop back in the days when I had an aquarium. I would never get a big tank like yours because there is so much work to keep it look nice, clean, and healthy for the fish and everyone who enjoys looking at the fish.

I can't believe how great your system looks with such a small amount of live rock and with no overflow! I was running a sump about the same size as my tank with only 1 clown and 1 yellow tang!
