Yes but HOW did you ask her? Was it accusatory or were you heated when you asked her? Big difference from just being calm rational and giving her the benefit of the doubt as opposed to asking her with doubt in your mind and possibly even a bit snarky/ accusatory, which would cause her to go on the defensive and respond the way she did?
