I routinely get tailgated by BMWs, Audis, mustangs, camaros, stis. Oddly enough corvette drivers rarely tailgate. It's usually the 20-40 crowd in the aforementioned cars.

And no, this isn't a situation where I'm hogging up the passing lane on a highway

But yeah it's really disappointing when it happens.

Maybe if you stopped driving like a grandma you wouldn't get tailgated!

Most of the AMG guys i've met are very chill. And they show mutual respect for other cars.

Yeah but I can't seem to win It's not that I want to drive "only" +5-10 MPH over the speed limit. I used to be an aggressive driver and had absolutely no problem with tailgaters. The problem is that I'd frequently get speeding tickets.

Now, when I drive with the flow of traffic (e.g. 70 in the right lane of a 60 MPH freeway or 50 MPH in a 40 MPH zone) 20 or 30 something BMW and Audi drivers aggressively tailgate me. Sometimes they'll see an opening and zoom ahead angrily only to get snagged by a speed trap 1/2 mile down the road (which I'll admit is oh so satisfying). Most of the time they just get away with it.

I've actually never ever seen an AMG driver drive like a douchebag. It's pretty impressive. All of them seem to drive respectfully, with the flow of traffic and leave the aggressive acceleration/speeding for the track.

it's definitely a maturity thing, being that AMG's are owned by a little older crowd than the typical BMW driver in his early to late 20's.

Saw a couple amg's on the 1/4 track the other day, oh myyyy

BMW,
"BMW is making some good cars at the moment. the cocks are all in Audis so you may get out of junctions."

Like i said, it's a personality thing rather than behavioral. They don't act a cock with their driving, but try and talk to them about something when your opinion differs from theirs, especially when the subject is vehicles.

I would say that's a fair assessment.

For example, I love my AMG but I would gladly buy the F80 M3 at some point. Brand loyalty will not determine whether I eventually go for the W205 C63 or the F80 M3. How I feel during and after the test drive will help me to determine which car I want.

You know the funny thing is that I thought I wanted the new M4. But I think I am going to wait for the new C63 and see how they compare. TT V8, close to 500hp. Wow.

Competition is heating up!

I see some older AMG's and C230's with AMG badges on them driving badly but you could say that about any make. I get the most worried about the old crown vics with huge wheels and rubber band tires. Those guys can drive way too fast considering that they have no handling.
