F30 Coilovers
Hey guys,
Looking to throw some coilovers on my 2013 f30 335i RWD. I am looking for a somewhat wallet friendly option for this job and was wondering if you guys had any recommendations. I was thinking these but I noticed it said not for vehicles with EDC. https://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-3...f32-428i-435i/ Bit of a bonehead question but how do I figure out of I've got EDC on my car? I've looked at coil options for cars with EDC and they are almost 1000 more. Please let me know what you guys think and if you have any recommendations. My VIN is: WBA3A9G50DNN73194 |

The vin lookup site says your car does have adaptive suspension (EDC). 2VF - M Adaptive Suspension
https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1795312 An easy way to see in real life is to turn your wheel to full lock and check if your shocks have a cylinder protruding from the side of the shock with a plug on the end. The option can be coded out as many have done to avoid errors. You are not locked into buying EDC dampers. |

I am currently unable to tune the car as I am still under warranty. Would this be an issue? Also, what would I be sacrificing if I get rid of the EDC? Would I notice a major difference? |

if i had adaptive, i'd get Eibach Pro-Kit springs, F80 bumpstops and Bilstein B4 Damptronics replacement struts/shocks or KW DDC adaptive coilovers.
i would NOT get B14(EDC delete) as they ride harsh for a daily and you're stuck with that ride without any comfort adjustability. |

KW coilovers do lower the suspension and for some drivers reduced clearance doesn’t help. |

Take a look at KW Street Comfort Coilovers. They are similar to V2 but "tuned" more towards comfort and they provide more clearance since the height adjustment range starts 10 mm higher than standard V2 coilovers. My car is on Street Comfort coilovers and I couldn't be happier with my choice.

If you're looking for wallet-friendly coilover options for your 2013 F30 335i RWD, consider alternatives like Eibach Pro-Kit springs paired with Bilstein B4 Damptronics replacement struts/shocks or KW DDC adaptive coilovers. Avoiding EDC delete options like the B14 could be wise for daily driving, as they tend to ride harshly and lack comfort adjustability. Additionally, if you're concerned about maintaining OEM suspension height or require increased clearance, products like the KW Street Comfort Coilovers might be worth exploring for a balance of performance and comfort.

It heard you, better hide
I have B14s and like them, the ride is stiffer than my ZCP M performance HAS on my F80 but do like the opportunity to see a difference.

The setup that alohasurftoad has suggested sounds really nice.
I run the kwv3s and they are amazing. But they're a little stiff for daily driving duty. The street comforts are probably a great option there, however I've read people saying they're too soft and they end up sagging. There's some issue with the street comforts if you look. But otherwise I think it's probably a good option. For EDC isn't there a button right next to the parking brake? That's how you know you have it I thought.. |
