i installed one package on my iohone4 and it bricked. No more jail breaking for me

so going to DFU mode or restoring from a different computer didn't work?

There is no such thing as bricking an iPhone. You can always find a way to restore it or put it into DFU mode.

oh it did. I meant once i installed the app, the phone wouldn't start anymore, not even in safe mode. So i had to reinstall iOS

You can't brick an iPhone with a jailbreak, some apps can mess things up though. Like Spire did for me til i uninstalled it. Roll on a5 jb !!
