I never really look until I'm ready to buy something. I have to think about it more, and for sure drive a 458 before I get serious.

I'm pretty sure I can get that out of them, and they are long since paid off. I hate interest, so I piss and moan any time I have to get a loan for anything, then hustle my ass off until it's paid off. I'm still mad about the $900 in interest I paid on the M2.

I'm going to agree that nothing else gives that Ferrari feel, but I'm not sure the experience beats the combination of the Exige/M2 to the level of the difference in price.

I'll have to do a more detailed study on it.

You only live once and can't take the money with you when you're dead, I regret nothing. I also probably have a bit of a different view than most people since I play poker a few nights a week and winning or losing $1000-2000 is just a normal day so paying $500-1000/month in interest to own a sweet exotic doesn't bother me at all, I just look at it as a night of poker money. I have no kids, no other car payments and a very low mortgage payment so that helps. To each their own though.

I'd say the value upside potential of a 458 is significantly better than the near-guaranteed annual depreciation of the other two cars. Maybe the Exige holds value well, I know nothing about their market so I can't really say but for me the most expensive cars I've had cost me the least and made me the most. Just need to do your research, get the right car for the right price, enjoy it for a while, then sell it for what you paid or more. Easy right? lol

It's a good spot to be in to own a Ferrari.

The Exige has proven to be an asset, not an expense, which is rare for a car. The M2, not so much, but the way I keep cars it'll cross that boundary at some point. With the same treatment I'm sure the 458 would be even better.

if you love the 458 then get one. prices are still very fair for what is essentially a very reliable car. and its not like prices are going anywhere. like dgoldenz said there are many guys on fchat using them as a daily with 50, 70, or 100k miles on the clock.

my service was usually around $1000 a year at the indy shop. insurance is about 2500-3000/yr.

although i love my gt3 and would not trade back (i need a manual in my weekend supercar)... there is something special about seeing the prancing horse and a plaque saying '31 f1 world titles' on the dash. you feel like you're part of something special every time you sit in it and smell that italian leather.

This low mileage 458 just sold for $314,500 with BAT fee for a car with $309k MSRP. Wild result, I would have guessed 260k or so

https://bringatrailer.com/listing/20...458-spider-23/

Feel pretty damn good about what I just paid for mine with two year CPO warranty given that kind of result

Have you, anyone, driven a 328? Looks like such a fun little analog. Watched some videos and that thing is tiny...which I like. 6 2 wouldn't seem to be an issue with targa off.

I have not. Service costs on an older Ferrari may be somewhat terrifying and parts can be difficult to source depending on what you need. This one on BAT had over $180k in work done since 2022 and sold for 130k, ouch - https://bringatrailer.com/listing/19...ri-328-gts-56/

Thanks. Info could come in handy.

My antennas went up on 180k of work on a, supposed, 27k car.
Reupholstered...really? Full leather seats and no alcantara. Odd, unless it was treated like a goat. New suspension?
Spend 180 then take 130? Don't want him or her offering me investment advice.

My basic research resulted in a somewhat bulletproof 3.2.

You only live once but chances are you'll live well into your 70s. Best be prepared to have a healthy net worth and only be spending a tiny fraction of what you bring in. I've got way too many friends that have all the toys and if they lost their well paying jobs, they'd are in serious financial trouble. Unfortunately, that's how most high earners live and then for some, it comes all crashing down.

I’ll be just fine. I’m self employed and have plenty in savings. This is just the fun money.

Love the truck. Always think I should pick up a quad cab one, gotta feel like that's a "never again" kind of vehicle. Hell, there are hardly any V10s left.

I remember when they did one of these on Wheeler Dealers. The fat little goof is driving it back, saying how ridiculous and "American" this giant truck is, then every few seconds stabbing the accelerator and giggling like a little girl as he was smashed into the back of the seat.

Not really...unless you were in 1 of those races lol. Marketing 101.

With that said, I'd own a 458
