My father in law is a retired state trooper in Ohio. He worked the roads for almost 15 years before being promoted off the road, but he's the first to tell you yes, a red car will attract more attention. Same for yellow.

Why? Red and yellow are very tradtional colors for high performance cars. What do owners of high performance cars do? They drive them fast. So, when he sees a red BMW 328i cruising next to a silver Volvo turbo wagon, which one will they target with the laser?

Well, I've only had my Crimson Red for about 3400 miles but I've done plenty of speeding and no attention yet. However, I did drive a bright red '84 Honda CRV (great little car) for about 80,000 miles with no tickets, either.

well, I've heard the same.. Red cars are more easily spotted... cars like Silver, tend to blend in more with other cars, as well as the road they are driving on so it doesn't look as obvious as a red. If you were looking at a sea of cars, more than likely the red car would catch your eye more so than any other color.

Next time you're driving down the highway look over to the opposite side and you'll be amazed by how much the red cars stick out and catch your eye. Give it a try, really...

I'm not a real policeman but I do play one on TV. Basically we don't give a shit about the color of the car, we just pay attention to the ones that are going faster then everyone else.
