Hey snvin! You're Tri-state too, no? Also, an otter I believe! Haven't been to a meet in awhile either, I must confess. Yeah, I'm desperately trying to find a way to keep my 02 WRX and grab a 1 too. I dunno if that's gonna work out though. I know I would miss my Subie. |

Oooo, hey sorry I missed you there Madjack(gforced)! What's up?
It's like we've got a little "NASIOC crew" over here! Hehe. But seriously, the last time I felt this way about a new car was the WRX and I had to buy one. Now it's the 1's turn! |

There's a 1-series thread over in OT right now, by the way. Yeah, I'm still trying to justify getting one of these. My lease is up in May '09, so I'd have that much longer to save... and hopefully, there will be a few used ones on the market by then. If I could pick up a year-old 135i for less than $30K, (Yeah, I know not much less) that would be great. The question is, what kind of Subie to buy as back-up. |

Hey guys, my name is Brandon, I currently drive an 02 WRX w/ STI swap and am also from Nasioc! (slvr02scooby)
My original plans were to get an 08 STI when I graduate from OSU, but with the recent release of the new WRX, i'm not looking as forward to the STI. Then I read about the 1er in News&Rumour and was hooked! So now i'm pretty set on a Jet Black 135i, coupe is much sexier than a hatchback! Looking forward to learning more about the BMW crowd, i've always planned to own a M3 and STI, but I think the 135i will do just fine. |

Intrigued
Greg here. New to the BMW world, but I have a long history of owning "enthusiast" cars.
I've owned several of the classic VW performance cars (83 GTI in 83, Mk1 Scirocco, and an R32.) Also had the gamut of FOMOCO cars (SHO, SVT Contour, SVT Cobra.) My pride and joy is the 1964 ERA FIA Cobra replica that I built myself. 2250lbs., 440 HP, and 450 ft.lbs torque, yee ha! I am very interested in the 135i, but will wait to decide till the final US specs are out. I went through the "waiting" period for the R32 and all of the questions on what the US would get vs. what Euro got. The suspension needed to be replaced, but other than that it was a great car. If the 135i specs and pricing are not right for me I will look for a clean E46 M3 (have you guys looked at them lately? Prices are really coming down for some very nice cars.) |

Hello, I have also been waiting for the right car for quite a while...This car definatly looks like it:headbang: I been driving twenty- year old cars for a while now. A 76' 2002 (sold), an 89' 240 wagon(my current DD 350K), and my current Bahn rocket an 88' 928 5-spd, which I plan on selling shortly
I know I'm plagerizing a little here, but a NEW car will definatly be "priceless". Cheers Parker |

Hi everyone,
I'm a new member who has been dreaming of a new 2002 since 1972. I owned a 328is and 323ci and loved them both. After 2001, the 3 series seemed to move towards luxury and/or lack of direct steering with a larger size. I have been talking to my children about my hope of a modern 2002 for the last 3 years. You can imagine how happily surprised I was with the 1 coupe announcement for the US. I am looking forward to being an active member here, especially after putting a down payment for a 135. Best wishes to all... |

My dad called me up and said "BMW is making a car for you!" and then told me about the 1 series and this website.
I checked it out and was hooked. I grew up loving BMW's. My dad was pretty active in the community... we'd go to BMW club events, driving schools and auto-crosses. (VIR and Road Atlanta mainly) My dad had various BMW's but the one's we took to the track were an E36 M3 and a 2002tii track car. I'm 20 and have had pretty boring cars but when I heard about the 1 series I couldn't resist. I plan on buying one shortly after they are released. Anyone in the NY area who is involved in BMW club or interested in hitting the track let me know... hope to see you out there in March. |

What's up folks? Evan from Tacoma, WA here. Been watching the forum for a week or two, but joined yesterday. I called my buddy at the BMW Northwest yesterday, and will be heading down this afternoon to talk about waiting lists with him.
I've always been a Bimmer-phile (is that a word?.) When I was in high school, for a summer I drove my uncle's '86 325es - awesome little car. And then I remember borrowing my other uncle's '98 M3 droptop for the senior prom - you can guess the rest of the story. Anyhow, I told my buddy about six months ago to keep an eye out for a 2002 black M Coupe (I think there are only a couple hundred or so.) But after drooling over the 335, then learning about 135, I think it's time to pull the trigger. My Dakota has been a badass (probably pulling just about 300hp at the crank, and I'll be keeping it... forever. But I think a 135i will make a great little 26th birthday present for me next March. I even emailed the bank yesterday and rolled some down payment cash into a seven month CD So that's my story. Thanks for listening. Off to the dealer this afternoon... |

New in FL
Hiya guys... My name's Matt, I live in Boca Raton FL and I'm hoping to get a 1 series cabrio whenever it comes out... (summer 08, I would guess?). I've been checking this thing just about everyday for the last month or so... so I just figured I oughta embrace my addiction and join.
Good to be here. |

Hola,
Name is Cody. Dwell in Oregon, 30 miles north of the Mexifornia border. Just this afternoon ordered a black on black 135i from Medford BMW. Turns out I'm the first in the southern half of the state to reserve one of these little hot rods. Who knew? Haven't had a BMW for over a decade as I reluctantly sold my showcar and project 71' 2002 in 95'. Nearly died in that car going sideways@85. Here he is... The 135i should be a total E-ticket. Cheers, Cody |

Hey everyone,
New here obviously. Just bought a 2007 VW GLI just a few months ago but I'm biting the bullet and selling it already. Put my $1000 deposit down on a 135 already and I'm the first on the waiting list here in Calgary. Cheers. |

Hello all! Name is David and living in Maryland. I've always been a fan of BMW but I've driven Hondas all my life:biggrin: Currently driving a 2005 Acura RSX-S, and was planning to get a used E46 M3 or 335i when I graduate from college, but BMW screwed that up when they released info on the 135i:tongue: I always wanted an E46 M3 ever since I saw one and rode in my bro-in-law's, but the 135i with the 300 hp bi-turbo motor just has so much more potential and it's calling my name! Unless BMW goes crazy with the price gouging, 135i is for sure going to be my next car:smile:
