I assume this is your first visit. If so, Paris is my favorite city to walk and my advice is to pick a neighborhood a day and just explore on foot. You can eat every meal from street vendors and just keep going.
There are of course the must see's... Notre Dame, Louvre, Bastille, Latin Quarter, etc... but I cannot imagine you will be bored.

Check out Maddam Tussads (sp?) , it's a wax museum of replica celebs and such. They look 100% real looking. Really cool place.
Also you have to hit up the moulin rouge(sp?). Sorry It's been a few years since I've been to Paris. It's a beutiful city!

I'll also be living in Paris for 6 weeks this summer, I speak fluent French so communication won't be a problem. I'm open to suggestion as to what to see/do. 1st on my list of preparations is pick up a dslr camera.

You are very lucky. Paris is the most fabulous city in the western world. My shortest field trip for my work was a three-month stay in Paris. You cannot possibly be bored in Paris.
Go see the Louvres museum. It's a fantastic opportunity for you to see all the works of the greatest artists of all time. You can spend literally days at the Louvres discovering treasures. If you go see the Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame go early it gets crowded rapidly. Go in the Latin Quarter (fourth, fifth, and sixth arrondissements). Go see Montmartre. Take a day trip to Versailles. Take a tour of the city sewers. I would not recommend Madame Tussaud. IMO, it's cheesy and the resemblances are not always that great. The food is fantastic everywhere. Bon voyage. |

just walk around and take it in - explore the different districts, hang out on on the patios of the cafes and brasseries. it's such a great city just to hang out in, great food, great vibe
