335is Mufflers On My 335i!

Finally got around to installing my 335is mufflers. They definitely sound a lot deeper, louder, and more burbly than the stock mufflers! Very similar to the Performance Exhaust. I have the butterfly valve open btw.

Here's a cold start video with some low revs at the end:

EDIT: Here's a sound clip of my car revving with downpipes! I'll post a cold start video sometime over the weekend.

Why put on stock mufflers from another car. Sounds good but I would've just would've done a straight pipe from headers back with those 335is mufflers.

I've been thinking about doing this as well. I had the PE but felt it was a little to loud for my tastes and really missed the flap during highway cruising (my daily commute). I think the iS mufflers might be right up my alley; a little louder plus retain the flap.

Where did you buy them from?

That's the sound i prefer. Good choice! Some aggressiveness but BMW classy at the same time!

If the PE is turning people away due to the rasp high higer RPM's the IS mufflers might be a good middle ground.

I'd be curious with DP's and high revs under load if this combo is has too much rasp.

Ahh well I didn't want something that would be too obnoxious haha. I live on a street where there are lots of small children, and elderly couples. Eventually I'll get down pipes, but definitely not removing my secondary cats.

Thanks! Yeah the PE sounds amazing, but I wanted something a bit quieter. I got these off of a forum member for a really good price!

I was thinking of getting down pipes later this winter. If I do get them, I'll make a video with my gopro/external mic to capture the sound better at high rpms.

Some people don't want loud cars especially on luxury cars. Im not a big fan of how this car sounds with different exhaust as the tone changes a lot or want this car to be loud but this one sounds good, sounds very similar to the stock tone. I might order some as well. Will they fit an E90? I believe the "is" model only came in a 2 door.

Thanks! Yup they'll fit your E90. You might have to shorten the length on the connecting pipes since the E92 is a bit longer than the E90.

Those of the with PE muffler, did you guys cut out the mid cat after the downpipe?

I wanna know if there will be a performance gain. Tuners have mentioned that changing it to a high flow cat will gain some HP, considering if you are already FBO and pushing 450+ to the wheels.
Also, if running PE muffler without any cat, will it have a lot of drone during highway cruising?

I wouldn't cut out the secondary cats. It'll just give you a ton of rasp and you'll drone if you have downpipes with a secondary cat delete + pe. So far I haven't noticed any drone with my setup. Very quiet when you want it to be, and loud when you get on it! Oh and it's even more burbly than before

I've always heard the 335is exhaust is just the PE exhaust with the exhaust flapper.

I've heard the 335is exhaust (on a 335is) with the golf tee mod and stock otherwise. Doesn't sound good.

Nope it's slightly quieter than the PE even with the valve open all the time. To each his own lol

I think it's a nice medium between stock and the PE. Just a little deeper sounding than the PE, and slightly less volume. Easier to be quiet when I want to be, but loud with heavy throttle.
